Chances that younger me (chef) never had but I now know off.

1. Learn German language. With this language you can train as an apprentice in Germany to became a chef. All you have to pay for are German lessons in your home country. Exam fees and eventually your flight to German after you get placed. You get a monthly stipend a month for your expenses. Minimum of €900
2. J1 visa to intern in the US. You need to be studying a culinary or hospitality program for this route.
3. H/B1 visa to work as as a Sushi chef (could have trained for sushi at one of the hotels I worked at, but I never put in the effort to learn 🤦🏿‍♀️)
4. I never regretted not working in the middle east. However, if you are still young and only need experience Dubai and Qatar are great places to get experience before venturing off to another destination.

Which opportunities did you not know off as younger you that you now know off?

The beauty of working in a different city everyday is what it is like working on the cruise ships ⛴️

On this day I was working at the company's private beach in the Bahamas, known as Coco Cay.

Do you know that the cruise company pays for your hotel accommodations before you join the ship.

This was the hotel 🏨I stayed in in Kusadasi, Turkey.

Did you know that as a crew member working on a cruise ship you can apply for a B1/B2 visa for free when you apply for your C1/D visa.

B1/B2 visa allows you to visit the United States after your contract .

When I worked for one of the cruise ship companies, I decided to go on vacation in the United States before I became a resident of the United States. How did I do this.

The company's policy was to notify them 90days before embarkation about my plans. I was required to buy my own air ticket and plan my flights. I then submitted the receipts to the company after my vacation and the company gave me a full reimbursement for the flights I paid for.

Did you know that when you sign off from Canada as a Crew member of a cruiseship you are given 72hours to visit and tour Canada before you go back to your home country. Always let your crew admin know about any vacations you would like to take, well in advance and enjoy the perks crew members have.

If you want to learn and know more about my experiences when I was a Crew member on the cruise ship please follow and like this page. I will also be giving tips on how to apply and where to apply for cruise ship jobs.

Applying as a Chef👩🏿‍🍳 to work on cruiseships🛳️🚢⛴️

Did you know that from my 3 job offers to work at the cruise ships, 2 of them where direct hire from the company and only one of them I received through an employment agency.

My first job working for a cruise ship company was from Royal Caribbean international. This is the website to make your application.https://rclctrac.com/

My second job was from Princess cruises as a direct hire, however, after I received my job offer they directed me to a South African company to help me with my onboarding process. https://princesscruises.pinpointhq.com/south-africa?structure_custom_group_one_id=[1049]

My 3 job offer i received it from Crew Life at sea to work at Mein Schieff. Unfortunately I never got the experience to work for that Cruise line as I was now engaged to be married when my assignment came up.

Why am I mentioning all of this. It is to show you that no matter your background as long as you have the skills and experience the cruiseship companies need you will be hired.

Cruise companies hire people from all over the world. They have diverse crew members. They do not discriminate based on age, s*x, religion or ethnicity.

Wishing you the best of luck as you apply to have a job that allows you to work and visit countless cities around the world for free 💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿
