Step into this cozy bistro on a beautiful leafy block in Manhattan’s iconic Upper West Side and you’ll feel like you’re dining in France, sipping a crisp Sancerre as you’re nestled in a burgundy velvet banquette, surrounded by Manny’s collection of vintage French posters. For fifteen years, Upper West Side locals have been coming to 225 Columbus Avenue for French onion soup, duck confit, steak frites, sole meunière, mussels and more. Our bar features the best wines from France, including several new biodynamic whites and reds, along with craft beers and creative cocktails.

Manny recently took a rare night off from MannysbistroNY to check out his dear friend Aaron’s terrific modern Middle Eastern restaurant, Frena — look at the feast they had! *Everything* was fantastic. Some highlights: All the dips, Sambusak (a PHENOMENAL baked loaf filled with spicy feta, za’atar etc), fried Halloumi, shrimp wrapped in crispy Kadayif, artichokes, seared za’atar scallops, falafel, the most tender ribeye steak, and even more tender short ribs tagine. And, ALL the desserts were fantastic — some favorites were the black tahini ice-cream, guava sorbet, and halvah sundae. Plus, look at that gorgeous space! If you haven’t checked out Frena yet, you must. Manny gives it 👍👍! Bravissimo, dear Aaron!
