𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 🍽️
Well, life was life-ing, and apparently our table did not consult the editorial calendar. 🥄
So yes, we’re a little late getting to the table this week. But if you’ve been following along and cooking with us, we weren’t about to leave you without a recipe just because the people behind the cookbook happen to have actual lives.
And this one was worth waiting for.
Last week, we gathered around our table to celebrate Colson’s 20th birthday, and this was the meal in the middle of it all.
A big beef roast, slowly braised with Huffmeister L***r from Huff Brewing Co., garlic, shallots and rosemary. Rosemary butter-bath potatoes that get one last blast of heat until they’re golden outside and ridiculously creamy inside. A bright Italian parsley chimichurri to cut through all that richness. And a Kitchen Sink Salad finished with jalapeño-cheddar sourdough croutons from Emmy B’s Sourdough Bread & Farm Shed.
In other words: hospitality food. 🍴
The kind you put in the middle of the table and let everybody help themselves to while conversations overlap, somebody asks for more potatoes, and the person whose birthday it actually is hopefully gets first dibs. 🥔
We built this one for Colson, but tucked it into Our Table for you—for the birthdays, anniversaries, Sunday dinners, company coming over, or ordinary Tuesdays that deserve something a little less ordinary.
Because around here, recipes don’t have to arrive perfectly on schedule.
Sometimes life happens first.
