The truth: we handed the keys to our food systems over a long time ago. Someone else is driving the car, and has been for a long time.

Another truth: The US has been importing beef…practically forever.
BUT, do you know who’s not importing beef? Your local farmer.
Bottom line: you can make the choice to take back the keys. Feels overwhelming? Pick a category to start: meat, dairy, produce, breads. Use your purchasing power to prioritize locally grown food, produced ethically by your neighbors. By doing this, not only are you “taking back the keys” to your families food, but you are keeping your money circulating right here in your county.
