This morning we woke up to the news of another local business closing. And lately, it feels like we’re seeing more and more of these posts.
It really makes you think.
We say “support small businesses” all the time, but supporting local has to be more than sharing a post after a business is already struggling or closing its doors.
Small businesses are trying to keep up with rent, electricity, supplies, payroll, and everything else that keeps getting more expensive. Behind every small business is a person, a family, a dream and usually a lot of sacrifice that nobody sees.
This isn’t about never shopping at a big chain. It’s simply a reminder: when you can, choose local.
Get your coffee from the little coffee shop.
Have lunch at the locally owned restaurant.
Visit the neighborhood boutique.
Hire the local service provider.
That $5, $10, or $20 purchase might feel small to you, but to a small business, it adds up.
Let’s show our love for local businesses while they’re still here not only when we hear they’re closing.”
Support them while the doors are still open. 🤍
