This Sunday, 9/27, we celebrate the 7-year wedding anniversary of MRBL BBQ founders Mike and Rhonda Taylor. When they embarked on this journey in 2019, they had no idea of the beautiful path ahead.

In those early days, life was simple. Mike wasn’t yet a professional cook or smoker; he had spent years as a mechanic before starting a landscaping business. Rhonda has always been in recruiting but also a passionate entrepreneur, recognizing a hidden talent in Mike that he hadn’t yet realized or pursued. Through a challenging venture that did not come to fruition, they found their calling, leading to the creation of MRBL BBQ, which they launched with the purchase of a food trailer in 2021.

The first few years were filled with humble beginnings and perseverance. They took on any opportunity to connect with their community, from chili cook-offs to local events, often driving hours for a chance to share their passion. Their dedication eventually led them to the Sanford Marketplace at Magnolia and later to the building at 440 North Dixie Freeway, where they began serving the Volusia area.

Mike and Rhonda are deeply grateful for the incredible support from their customers over the years. Their love story continues to grow stronger each day. You can call ahead to 386-444-6848, or if you’re in the mood for delivery, we’ve got DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. We serve ribs daily and rib tips until sell out. Also, since yesterday was brisket Thursday, until sell out today, we’re serving as brisket sandwiches or our brisket cheese steak. Don’t forget, for the light eaters or those on a fixed income and budget, we have an everyday value menu that features two sliders or two tacos and a side of your choice, bean slaw or potato salad, for eight dollars. Happy Labor Day to all our MRBL heads, since we’re closed on holidays, we wanted to share with you this behind-the-scenes look into our kitchen as Mike cuts the rib tip from the ribs. Both St. Louis-style ribs, rib platters, and rib tips by the pound and half pound are available every day at 440 North Dixie Freeway. What’s coming after brisket Thursday? Until we sell out, you can enjoy not only our classic brisket sandwiches but also our newest creation: the brisket cheesesteak. It features tender brisket, sautéed onions, peppers, and melted provolone cheese, all served on a fresh hoagie roll. Find us at 440 North Dixie Freeway. We’re open today, Friday, from 7 AM to 8 PM. We would love to be your Labor Day partner. We’ll be closed on Monday, September 7th, but in advance of Labor da, we’re offering orders to be placed in person at 440 North Dixie Freeway or over the phone at 386-444-6848. Orders to be placed by Friday 9/4 for pickup Saturday 9/5.

We’ve got:

- if you need us to accommodate larger groups, whole racks of ribs, whole pork butts, whole pans of chicken, and whole pans of sides
