I've had a few people message me about the status of Smoked for summer 2026. I'm not going to reopen this season. I've decided to let the license lapse. I might open again some day when food costs are a little more consistent and predictable. But until that time Smoked Food Truck is closed.

Just a reminder that I'll be open on October 4th at my usual location outside of Sugar Leaf Co 's 3rd annual Croptober Fest event. I'm considering bringing back my mac 'n cheese that day.

This will be my last day open this year. Not sure how things are looking for next year. I'll be back in some form but not sure what that will be just yet.

I have been thinking about the possibility of making this post for the past two weeks. Today I made the final decision to remain closed.

Earlier today I started planning my weekly food order. Everything is more expensive today than it was a few weeks ago when I last ordered. (Brisket is up another $1/lb in that time.). This business is not sustainable with input costs constantly rising and weekly sales declining.

So I will be closed until I figure out what I can do differently to maybe make this a viable business.

In the mean time I would be happy to cater your event or party.

I do plan to be open for Croptober Fest on October 4th

50% chance of thunderstorms starting around 6pm today (Sun, July 27th) If that forecast continues I will be closing early.

Today is the last day I will be open for a bit. I am taking a couple weeks off to get caught up on non-food-truck life. Hopefully will be opening again on Fri, Aug. 15th in time for UBM weekend. I will keep you posted.

Today was a great day at Kingfield Festival Days.

I was a little apprehensive since it was my first event away from my normal parking spot near Sugar Leaf Co

Thank you to everyone that tried my food today. I thrive on the feedback. I hope I never grow accustomed to people being surprised at the quality of food I'm laboring to put out.

Thank you to my regular customers that sought me out in Kingfield.

But most of all thank you to Sage and Thea. Without these two incredible young women today wouldn't have been possible. They kept things running smoothly. 90% of orders were out the door within 5 mins (or less!) Within an hour it felt like we had worked together for years even though I provided almost no training or instruction.

Truly a great experience.
