Our Grove event space has been home to some pretty wonderful celebrations over the years!

We’ve welcomed couples on their wedding day, hosted talented musicians from near and far, and gathered around the table for plenty of special occasions.

But one of our favorite things about The Grove is seeing it filled with families, friends, and coworkers celebrating the holidays together.

And believe it or not, the holiday parties are already being booked!

If you’re thinking about getting everyone together for a Christmas party, an end-of-year celebration with your colleagues, or a family gathering, we’d be delighted to have you.

Autumn is in the air, and we have our sights on Thanksgiving dinner!

We’ll be serving our annual three-course prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 26, from 12–6pm, with plenty of your favorites on the menu.

And yes, the Short Rib and those beloved Street Corn Carrots made the menu! We know some of you would be disappointed if they weren’t.

Dinner is $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

It felt like summer today, but our weekend specials feel more like autumn.

Our Beef Rouladen starts with thinly sliced ribeye, braised and stuffed with bacon, pickle and onion stuffing, then served over sour cream and green onion mashed potatoes with a Hefeweizen and gingersnap demi-glace.

And behind the bar, Meg’s made us the Long Leg Perry, her take on a New York Sour with Old Overholt rye, pear honey syrup, lemon and a Pedro Ximénez sherry float.

This Thursday, we’re welcoming a bit of County Kerry to New Paltz.

Lorraine Nash is making her very first U.S. tour, and we’re delighted to have her joining us here at Garvan’s.

Lorraine grew up in Lyreacrompane, County Kerry, surrounded by traditional Irish music. She plays piano, guitar, fiddle, tin whistle, and flute, and brings those Irish roots into her own blend of folk, country, and Americana.

And on Thursday night, she’ll be playing right here in The Grove, our lovely event space right behind our restaurant.

If you’ve joined us for one of our Irish concerts before, you know how special these evenings can be. Have dinner with us beforehand, then head out back for the music.

These happy people are our friendly ‘raiders’ of our Charity Box in the Foyer for Family of New Paltz food pantry!
They found $643 in there and we are always happy to match, so $1286 going to this most worthy local Charity tomorrow, they need it more than ever with many programs being cut etc. Thanks so much to our amazing and generous customers for making this happen!

This weekend’s cocktail is a tart, fruity twist on a classic gimlet with Amarena cherry juice, our house-made lime cordial, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, Icelandic vodka, and fresh mint from the garden.

Thanks to all of YOU, Garvan’s has been named Best Ulster County Restaurant in Hudson Valley Magazine’s 2026 Best of Hudson Valley!

And in our tenth year, too. What a wonderful way to celebrate!

To everyone who took the time to vote for us, thank you. We know there are plenty of wonderful restaurants here in Ulster County, and it means an awful lot that you chose ours.

For ten years, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming you into this old house. We’ve watched families grow, celebrated your special occasions, made some dear friends, and shared more than a few good meals and pints along the way.

And none of it would be possible without our incredible staff and the community that has supported us since 2016.

We’re awfully proud of this one.

Next Thursday, we have a very special visitor coming all the way from County Kerry!

Lorraine Nash is on her first U.S. tour, and we’re delighted that she’ll be spending an evening with us here at Garvan’s on October 1st.

Lorraine grew up playing traditional Irish music and has gone on to make quite a name for herself as a singer-songwriter. Her music brings together those Irish roots with folk, country, and Americana, and she’s an accomplished musician on piano, guitar, fiddle, tin whistle, and flute.

She’s performed at Glastonbury, appeared on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, and toured with the Hothouse Flowers. Now she’s making her way to our little corner of New Paltz, and we’d love for you to join us in welcoming her.

We’re not quite ready to say goodbye to evenings outside.

Summer’s nearly behind us and you can feel autumn making its way into New Paltz. The air is cooler, the evenings are quieter, and it’s still a lovely time to sit outside with a deliciously prepared meal and someone you love.

Our porch and patio have seen plenty of long lunches, family dinners, celebrations, and conversations that carried on well after the plates were cleared this summer.

And we hope there are a few more to come before we move back inside and light the fireplaces.
