If you tune in on Netflix to the show Q***r Eye Season 8 you will see former Streetcar chef Tim Keel getting a visit from the show. Tim was always a great friend of mine and we worked for years together at Streetcar. His daughter, Melody, contacted the show and they chose Tim ( Who is a major KISS superfan) to be on it and get a home and life makeover. God Bless the crew and cast of that show and thanks to Melody for helping Tim find a brighter day. Everyone in this picture is a friend of Tim's from back in the day and that's him and his bride, Kim, at the bottom left as we celebrated their wedding at Pat O'Brien's. Fred LeBlanc from the band Cowboy Mouth was one of our many favorite customers from back in the day. Streetcar staff were big fans of the band and would end up at the shows after work. Fred tears that drum kit up every show. Cowboy Mouth

If you lived in New Orleans back in the 80's and early 90's you know about the amazing music scene that buzzed around Streetcar Sandwiches and the Uptown area. The bands that would play at Jimmy's Music Club would come by for dinner or Jimmy Anselmo himself would buy the band dinner and have it delivered around the corner.

The neighborhood from Oak St to Jeanette would be flooded with people who were heading out to hear amazing bands like the Neville Brothers, Radiators and bands from around the world. The drinking age back then was 18 so the students at Tulane and Loyola along with locals would end up dancing in the streets.

The great staff at Streetcar would get off work and head out to catch the shows at these music venues. The posters for these music events were screen printed by hand and we would place them in the front windows. Some of the band members would stop in after playing these clubs and ask for them and of course they could. You could find these small posters hanging from the walls of music clubs and homes around the city. What a great place to work and soak in everything that is great about New Orleans. The employees at the Audubon Zoo were regular customers of Streetcar. Delivery drivers were always bringing lunch to the zoo staff.

Carrollton Station is right around the corner from the original Streetcar Sandwiches at 1434 S. Carrollton Avenu. One of the originalowners of Carrollton Station in the early 80's was Hank Van Susteren. He is the brother of news personality Greta Van Susteren. Carrollton Station is right across the street from Jimmy's Music Club. Jimmy used to order food for the band from Streetcar back in the day.

Did an absolutely AMAZING job restoring our Coke Sign, dontcha think?! Just in time for LIVE MUSIC tomorrow, 5pm - 7pm, rain or shine!

Back in the mid 80's and 90's the Streetcar crew Would leave work and try to catch the bands playing at Tipitina's. Tulane's radio station WTUL used to set up on Monday nights at Tipitina's and transmit the music over the radio waves around the city. The drinking age at the time was 18 so the students from around the country could get a taste of live music and they helped keep the music alive. So many great musicians walked through those doors on the corner of Napoleon and Tchoupitoulas.

It may not say Streetcar Sandwhiches on the sign anymore but it will always be a great New Orleans memory for the customers and awesome group of employees that walked through those doors. The sound of passing streetcars on Carrollton Avenue and the amazing odor of what was being cooked inside floating through the air brought tourists inside asking what smelled so great. We made a vent hood over the toaster oven that vented outside in the small alley between the buildings. and toward the street. That was just one of the great things about being in Uptown.
