Happy World Chocolate Day. 🍫

Chocolate feels eternal. Like birthdays, bad days, first dates, and stolen bites over the kitchen sink. But it's not guaranteed.

The cacao trees that give us chocolate are already feeling the strain of a warming world. If we want our children, and their children, to know the joy of breaking open a chocolate bar or blowing out candles on a chocolate cake, we'll have to do something wonderfully old-fashioned: work together.

Maybe that means buying a little less, wasting a little less, planting a little more, and remembering that a good life isn't built on consuming everything. It's built on sharing what matters.

Here's to keeping chocolate on the table for generations to come. Happy World Chocolate Day.

Two hundred fifty years ago, a group of people mixed up a recipe bigger than themselves: that all of us are created equal, with rights no one can take away.
That first batch didn’t come out right. America has never been something pulled from the oven fully risen. It’s been a slow proof, generation after generation, with people fighting for a seat at the table who didn’t have one yet. We’ve under-baked things. Left ingredients out that should’ve been there from the start.
But every time we’ve fallen short, someone’s walked back into the kitchen and said this isn’t done yet, and helped us rise closer to what we set out to make.
250 years in, we’re still proofing. And bread that’s still rising is bread that’s still alive.
This Fourth of July, we’re celebrating something still becoming, built by people of every background who believe the recipe is worth carrying forward.
Happy 250th, from our ovens to your table. 🇺🇸🍞

Tomorrow is the final day of Cup Cake Carnival when we run out we will be out. This was an incredible month! If you were to stack the number of cupcakes we made on top of each other they would reach the top of the Empire State Building. Lined up side by side they would rap around the Super Dome 3 times. That’s a whole lot of Cupcakes.

I'm asking for our community's help folks.

We've partnered with Les Dames d'Escoffier New Orleans to collect school supplies for the 250 children served by the New Orleans Women & Children's Shelter. Let’s show the love.

Now through July 19, drop your donations off at Bywater Bakery.

We're collecting:
🎒 Clear or mesh backpacks
📓 Composition and spiral notebooks
✏️ No. 2 pencils and erasers
🖍️ Crayons, colored pencils, and markers
🖇️ Glue sticks and plastic folders
📏 Rulers, scissors, pencil sharpeners, binders, and subject dividers
📄 Loose-leaf paper and index cards
🖊️ Pens and highlighters
🧮 Scientific calculators and protractors
🧼 Clorox wipes, tissues, pocket hand sanitizer (60%+ alcohol), liquid hand soap, and paper towels

Every backpack filled is one less worry for a family and one more child who gets to walk into school feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
