Chef Raksh*t Kadam plates Louisiana shrimp folded into a curry of coconut, tomato and tamarind. Served with curry leaf pistou naan for getting every last bit.

A dish that feels very much at home at Saffron.

Wednesdays are for wine šŸ·

You may have noticed our wine program evolving—with new by-the-glass pours and some exciting additions to the list.

Beginning tomorrow and continuing every Wednesday throughout September, we’ll be opening up the cellar and offering a selection of bottles at 50% off their list price.

And there’s more to come.

Kismat.

In Punjabi, kismat means fate or destiny—something that was meant to be.

Soon, we’ll be introducing our Kismat Pour: a rotating special wine by the glass, chosen each day by our team. Something interesting. Something unexpected. Something you might not otherwise have the chance to drink by the glass.

Sometimes, you choose the wine.

Sometimes, it’s Kismat.

Cheers. šŸ„‚

A Message from Chef

As we prepare to celebrate the 250th birthday of our great nation, I reflect on my journey with profound gratitude and pride.

When I immigrated to the United States, I arrived with hopes, dreams, and a determination to work hard. America opened its doors and offered opportunities beyond my imagination — recognizing the value of dedication, perseverance, and personal responsibility, and rewarding my efforts throughout a 43-year career in hospitality.

I came to this country seeking an opportunity, and America gave me exactly that. It provided an environment where hard work mattered, commitment was recognized, and success was attainable for those willing to earn it. I was able to build a meaningful career, provide for my family, and establish a life filled with purpose and accomplishment.

America also gave me the privilege of serving the New Orleans community, a city and people I have come to love deeply. It placed me in a position to help those in need, encourage those facing challenges, and mentor others as they pursued their own dreams. Some of my greatest rewards have come not from personal achievements, but from seeing others succeed and knowing I played a small part in their journey.

Throughout my life in this country, I have witnessed the power of opportunity — how determination, hard work, and faith can transform lives. I am living proof of what is possible when a nation provides freedom and the chance to pursue one’s dreams.

On this historic day, I offer my heartfelt gratitude to the United States of America. I am thankful for all it has provided, the values it instilled, and the purpose it gave my life.
As America celebrates 250 years of freedom and progress, I celebrate the blessings this nation has bestowed upon me and millions of others who came here seeking a better future.

May God continue to bless this great nation — happy birthday, America šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø
