Learn about the history of your favorite food at “Pronounced Ah-Beetz”

“Pronounced Ah-Beetz” will examine the fun, the flavor and the history of pizza, including its origin as an affordable means of feeding workers in the fields of Italy, and how it became the food of the poor in the U.S. The Italian migration to New Haven gave way to Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana, which gave birth to Sally’s Apizza, while a mile away Tony’s Apizza became Modern. How these three establishments became among the most iconically loved pizza restaurants in the country will be a major focus.

Opening October 9, 2025 at the New Haven Museum.

This Friday we welcome back our award winning American Lager, Modern Classic.

A super clean and delicious lager beer brewed with a portion of flaked corn and fermented with an old world lager yeast. These elements come together to create this remarkably tasty and highly drinkable beer.

Modern Classic cans and draft will be available in our beer hall and at this week!

Saturday at opening we'll have cans of both of the collaboration beers ready to go, as well as pouring on draft!

We're very thankful that we got the opportunity to work with two amazing independent CT businesses that we are proud to call our friends to make some really fun wonderful beers.

A Modern Classic, made with the iconic Modern Apizza , a pre-prohibition style lager made with local malted barley and a portion of corn in the grist to create a tremendously clean and drinkable lager with a mild touch of sweetness. It's drinking beautifully. 4.9% - $12/4p

Time Stamp is a classic American style pale ale brewed with a CT brewing pioneer, Willimantic Brewing Company . Brewed with a blend of Citra, Centennial and Columbus melded with a balanced malt profile. We're getting lots of grapefruit and orange marmalade. 5.2% - $12/4p
