After much discussion, Elena and I have decided not to reopen Cafe Elena. We could list a bunch of the discussion points or reasons, but instead, we will just say that we have chosen to quit on our terms and pursue some other adventures.

We want to offer a truly heartfealt thanks to everyone who supported and encouraged us. We also want to express how fortunate we have been to make some great new friends and acquaintances! We are truly sorry for any disappointment anyone feels over our shutting down, but hope you will support us as we search for whatever we will try to do next!

There are some Cafe Elena gift certificates floating around out there somewhere. If anyone has one of those, please get in touch with us...or if you know someone who has one, please let them know to get in touch with us...so we can buy them back from you.

Hope everyone has a great 2017!!! Chase your dreams people...life is short. :)

Desserts for this week. German Bee Sting Cake, Lemon Pie, and Gooey Chocolate Pie. Also...Prime Rib...eat it for dessert if you want....we won't judge you.

This Thursday and Friday we will have slow roasted Prime Rib, Romanian Varza, and Vegetable Lasagne.

We are still arm wrestling to see whether we will make my version of ham and beans...or Elena's Romanian version...but we will have SOME type of Ham and Beans too!

I will post details about the desserts problably tomorrow.

Also, don't forget that this will be our last 2 days being open until probably early February!!!!

Due to the bad weather and not being very busy this week, we have plenty of desserts left and will be offering pieces ordered to go while supplies last! Currently we have Lemon Pie (which is made the same way as key lime pie), Peanut Butter / Chocolate Cheesecake, and Chocolate Pyramid Cake. Announcement! :)

We will be open tonight (December 16th), and next Thursday and Friday (December 22 and 23), but then will be closing down for the holidays AND for approximately the month of January. We plan to do some light remodeling/fixing/maybe painting (YUCK!), and hopefully some organizing and rearranging too. We will keep an eye on the weather and announce when we will open back up, currently planned for early February!

We will still be available for private groups, and may get really frisky and do a popup dinner in January depending on the weather and interest level.

If you have any special dinner or dessert requests for next week...now is the time to send them to me!
