Captain Ray Twiford, a lifelong waterman, was the first person on the shore to sell fresh shrimp and local seafood at his roadside stands back in 1981 where his catch phrase was "Get Fresh With Me, You'll Love it!". He and his wife Laura then opened Ray's Shanty Restaurant in 1986 where they quickly became famous for the best shrimp and seafood around. Serving fresh local Eastern Shore seafood for lunch and dinner

Oh my goodness! Look at that abundant sunshine! 🌞 Better get outside and enjoy it while you can because it seems we have some more nor'easter type temps coming our way!

Speaking of goodness, just look at all that delicious seafood in the market!

*The restaurant season is winding down, next Sunday the 25th is our last day!

**The seafood market will reopen again Friday Nov 6th with our winter schedule of Fri- Sat 10-5 and Sun 10-2 until NYE again. We will also have some extra weekdays added in Im sure right before the holidays for everyone's convenience.
I will post the exact days in a couple of weeks.

Well this is the 3rd Sunday in a row that I have posted this.
Getting to be an unwelcome habit with this noreaster weather!
More than likely we will end up closing early this evening around 7 again so I would suggest calling ahead.
It seems with weather like this most people head home early and those that do venture out do so early while its still light.
So we will just go with it and hope for prettier weather for our next 2 weekends open for the season!

**Internet is back. All is well and back to normal!**

So currently we are without internet as spectrum lines are down. Our phones are back working but until we get internet back we are cash only and cannot process credit cards or debit cards. We are told service will be back by 6pm.
Thank you for your understanding and I will update as we know more

Things are quiet again this weekend so we will probably be closing early at 7. Thank you and hopefully we get a nice sunny holiday weekend next week!

**update, we are closing now. Seems everybody that was going to come out tonight has already done so and we will see you all tomorrow at 11am! Stay safe!**

Well the weather and everyone's plans may be a washout but we are high and dry here at Ray's Shanty, ready to fill your coolers and bellies before you head back home!

Hopefully everyone is having a good first couple of weeks back to school! It's hard to believe we are at that post season time of year already!

Tonight is Lobster night again 4-8🦞

September on the shore is a beautiful time to visit, and fresh seafood is still very plentiful!
