Captain Ray Twiford, a lifelong waterman, was the first person on the shore to sell fresh shrimp and local seafood at his roadside stands back in 1981 where his catch phrase was "Get Fresh With Me, You'll Love it!". He and his wife Laura then opened Ray's Shanty Restaurant in 1986 where they quickly became famous for the best shrimp and seafood around. Serving fresh local Eastern Shore seafood for

What a great celebration for our 250th it was! 🇺🇸🎆
I know our kitchen staff is very thankful it's a little cooler today too!

Ray and Tucker have just offloaded fresh NC shrimp and have the market set up and ready to go! Clams, oysters and lobsters available just in the walkin cooler right now.

Ray is running a special on some of the shrimp that just came in, mediums normally 8.95 lb or 5/40. A 50 lb box is now 325. While they last

26/30s 10.95 lb or 5/50. Are 400. For a 50 lb box while they last too!

Please be aware that with these dangerous temps I will be monitoring my workers especially in the kitchen and if I feel we need to close we will do so without much notice. So if in doubt you can call ahead to make sure we are still open.

Also a reminder that we will be closing early tomorrow on the 4th by 7pm to allow all of our employees the time to celebrate as well.

What a gorgeous weekend to celebrate Father's day and the summer solstice! 🌞

Ray and Tucker have the market stocked with so many wonderful choices ! Look at the size of those heads on shrimp and the big scallops! We don't get those very often and they would be great to grill!
I tried the Hake fish last night for the first time and I see why we were told its called flakey hakey! Nice flaky white mild fish often used for fish n chips.

Also the board for the dining room is pictured with today's lunch and dinner specials and I will do another updated post in the morning for Father's day.
