Tonight’s menu includes bbq along with USDA prime ribeye steaks(16 oz.), country fried steaks, fish tacos, smoked wings and maybe a few other surprises! Come cut some teeth like my grandson! We’ve got a pile of food, no line, and plenty of space in the new building! We’ll be open til 3:30 then close for two hours and open again at 5:30 for supper!

Wow! Day 1 is in the books, and we are truly humbled by the outpouring of support from our community! Business leaders, elected officials, first responders from all over and so many others showed up in force!

Thank you! 🙏🏾

New facility, new systems, and an overwhelmingly large crowd all day showed us many areas of needed attention and we are addressing those starting today.

Starting at 3:30-ish, we will shut down for two hours and make a transition to our evening set up. (We didn’t think that through yesterday) thank you for your patience.

We have an amazing group of employees that are eager to serve you and they are so thankful for the grace that all but a few extended to them-last night especially.

Time to get to work, we’ll see y’all from 10:30-3:30 and 5:30-8:30.

We’re were in a bit of a hurry earlier and didn’t provide as many details as we should have. So here goes:

Rusty Buckle 2.0 begins this Friday morning at 10:30 with a prayer by my good friend Pastor Mark Grimes. Then it’s finally back to doing what we’ve missed for far too long, servin the best bbq around to the best people anywhere! We will roll straight through until 9pm or so. Saturday morning will see things crank back up at 10:30 and go til 9pm or so again. We’ll take a few days off and then go back to regularly scheduled programming next week. Our new hours will be 10:30am-8pm(or later depending on crowd) Wednesday & Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays we will be open from 10:30am-9:30pm or later, again, depending on the crowd. We will add Sunday brunch later this fall, give a month or so to get back in the swing of things.

We have seating for 125 in the dining room and for many more on the back patio.

Until we get the old building torn down, our parking might be a little tight but we will do the best we can to accommodate. Just put on your patience cap and bear with us. We could have delayed opening but we decided that it was worth the risk. The parking will improve soon enough.

In addition to the bbq we will have burgers, Country fried steaks, fat chicks, fish tacos, nachos, appetizers, and steaks-this week will be filet mignons and ribeyes(available nightly beginning at 6).

Now Hiring at The Rusty Buckle.

The Rusty Buckle is looking for energetic folks to join our team! If you’re dependable, can show up on time, and know how to work hard with a good attitude without being on your phone all the time then we want to hear from you!

Daytime and evening positions available. Service days and times are Wednesday-Sunday. There may be a few positions that require Monday and Tuesday work, but not many. Also special events and catering offsite.

What we’re looking for:

-Someone with reliable transportation
-Punctual and dependable
-A team player with a positive attitude
-Someone who is able to follow instructions
-Food service experience is a plus
-No criminal record

We have our own recipes so we don’t need yours. We provide training and encouragement.

No, we don't have an opening date yet, call the fire marshall's office and ask them, we've done our part.

What we can do though is plan for some future events, so we're throwing this out there to gauge the response. The biggest rivalry game in college football will be played at Kyle Field in College Station the day after Thanksgiving. Check out the prices! Mindboggling to say the least. A more affordable alternative would be to make a reservation with us and come watch the big game while enjoying not having to endure the traffic and hassle of 100,000 or more people and whatever surprise the weather wants to throw at you. We'll post more details later but at least there is an alternative. The evening would be by reservation only as space would be limited, 6-8 big screens, indoors and outside on the patio. Food would be included in the price of admission, and we would also have some side pots, along with a few other fun things that will make it a memorable evening. We will not be serving turkey, dressing or anything else from the previous day's family dinner!

So, college football fans, what are your thoughts?

Don’t pay any attention to the construction zone on the back patio. We’ll work on that next week. Starting to get things in their place to see how the flow will work.

Some old tables and some new tables will be waiting for you to learn their stories and more when we are able to open the doors in the very near future! Come learn the history behind some and the memories that make them special. We don't have a date yet, but we are calling the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office tomorrow to schedule the inspections. We will begin work on the back yard, the parking lot and finish up with decorations next week. Our goal is to be able to open for business by the end of the month. Keep your fingers crossed!

Are you turkeys ready for some BBQ? I know we’re beyond ready to serve y’all! We’ve been working at it night and day and it’s down to a few items left that are in need of completion in order for us to call for inspections. The parking lot and backyard might not be exactly like we want to start up again but we’ll get that there in due time. The most important thing is serving everyone again and being more than just a place to get a good meal. We’ve kept some things from the pre-fire days, we’ve added some things and when we open back up you’ll have more days and more hours to enjoy good times at The Rusty Buckle-craft bbq and Texas cuisine! 300+ pork chops last Thursday for Splendora ISD FFA banquet. Tonight, Ducks Unlimited Gun Frenzy has us serving up 360 and a couple dozen ribeyes! Hope you got your tickets and you bring your appetite! It’s for the ducks! 🦆🦆🦆

Catering in Round Rock tomorrow for some friends and their employees then it’s a pork chop dinner for 300 or so at the Ducks Unlimited fi****ms frenzy Thursday night. Graduation parties are booking fast, so send us a message if you’d like get on the schedule. Air conditioning goes in next week!
