My father was in the restaurant business for several years after retiring from the Air Force (owned several McDonalds franchises in South Carolina), so it came as no surprise to me that my family and I would go on to acquire ownership of Los Gallos Taco House in December of 2013. We have lived in Comal county for over 20 years. Our children attended Comal ISD and all of our leisure time and entert

ainment was spent in New Braunfels. When the restaurant came up for sale, it was a no-brainer. Our oldest son, Austen, who attended Canyon High School, strongly recommended that we acquire the business for its uniquely oversized tacos and hot spot for local gatherings. We eventually won the Reader’s Choice Award of New Braunfels for the Best Breakfast Taco for two consecutive years (2019 and 2020)! We also picked up another award for the Best Burrito/Taco for 2020! Los Gallos has been a mainstay of the community for several decades. Had we not acquired this iconic “taco joint”, New Braunfels was more than likely going to lose one of the best Mexican food restaurants in town. Here at Los Gallos, we serve authentic Mexican food in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. At Los Gallos, everyone is family, and our cheap and delicious tacos can be enjoyed any time of day! We were featured as one of Texas Hill Country Magazine’s top 10 Mexican restaurants, and with good reason. All of our dishes are made fresh, using authentic recipes you won’t find anywhere else north of the border. We are famous for our overstuffed tacos, but the delicious fare doesn’t stop there. People also love our Huevos Rancheros and flavorful Migas and Menudo. We have adapted very well throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We have never had to change our hours of operation or our menu offerings. We have add curbside service and have created almost 10 family meals that will have a permanent spot on our menu. We have also recently launched our on-line ordering platform that contains almost a full menu of selections and which can be accessed through our website (www.losgallostacohouse.com).
