Alive Day: 17 years ago today, I received the call that my husband’s vehicle had been hit by an IED in Iraq. At 6 months pregnant and caring for then our 3 year old daughter put me in an emotional roller coaster trying to hold it all together. Since receiving the agonizing call and 3 days later I saw my husband for the first time in 5 1/2 months in ICU burn ward suffering from 3rd degree burns. Through a difficult recovery, this devil dog didn’t give up and continued his career as a Marine. My heartache continues for the 3 Marines who were KIA that day in the same vehicle and keeping their surviving loved ones in our hearts. Isabella, Blainey and I love you so much Blaine: We are the exceptional couple that sticks together through thick and thin. Blaine Scott
