Since 1993, Las Nuevas Tamaleras has been delighting audiences and has become as beloved as The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, and It’s a Wonderful Life! 🎭
Written and directed by local playwright Alicia Mena, this one-act comedy follows Silvia, Josie, and Patsy as they attempt to make tamales for the very first time. 🌽 Their efforts are hilariously complicated by the spirits of Doña Mercedes and Doña Juanita—two seasoned tamaleras with very different ideas about what makes the perfect tamal! 😂
With uproarious humor, heartfelt moments, and themes of friendship, family, and tradition, Las Nuevas Tamaleras will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you proud! ❤️
