Good afternoon,

Gonna quick try and post while hubby finishes up defrosting our ice cream freezer.

One person who is a cherished part of our shop is our granddaughter. She frequents the shop with her mother and little brother. She feels very comfortable here as she drinks her cup of milk and munches on a Carolina bagel. Yesterday when she dropped by, she made a new friend who shared a high top (and a peek at her cell phone 😊) with her!! It's precious moments like these that I don't want to take for granted.

I'm not going to share a menu rundown this evening, but I can tell you that Austin made a STRAWBERRY RHUBARB pie...the very first one ever made at Crema Brew!! ❣️

We have everything else as well 😉.

Good evening folks,

One thing you don't always think about prior to venturing forth are the umpteen behind-the-scenes things that need to get done when owning your own business. Things that most folks don't see. Things that generally fall to one or two specific individuals.

This evening it was time for Donovan to grab his ladder and once again clean our mini split filters. He cleans the units while I clean the filters. We're a great team and there's no one I'd rather do life with!

Good afternoon on a seriously heavy-laden rain-stormy kind of day, repeatedly!! It does a body good!! My hubby rested his arms on our backyard bamboo fence, watching the creek flow all the while getting thoroughly drenched. I think rain can be its own form of therapy. Ha!!

Thank you everyone who gave towards assisting the Unstoppable Love team in SE Asia for May's Coffee Leaks. $100.00 was raised which assists them in "reaching and caring for vulnerable individuals and families in meaningful and practical ways." Our family truly appreciates it!!

For the month of June, our Coffee Leaks collection will be going to assist 14-year-old twin boys attain iPads. You see, their family, the Bennett's, are moving to Central Eurasia to assist in bringing HOPE to a nation enduring widespread poverty and domestic abuse. We felt like focusing on their sons who will certainly need all the assistance they can receive while learning a new language and culture. By the way, our Assistant Manager Mia has a very close connection to this beautiful family. Thank you, big-time, for helping with this need. The family plans on heading overseas this August!

Good morning on this glorious day!!! Epic weather to begin our day!

Waiting.
Waiting again.
"I have been waiting for this moment for a very long time."
Waiting against all odds.

I observed this lovely couple through my bakeshop window as I was working away. I noticed she wrote in our journal but hadn't noticed when he did the same. But how thrilled I am for the two of them after living life in a long season of waiting.

Why does waiting come so hard and feel like it may last forever?? Waiting is not wasted time. So much growth happens in our inner being that only the element of time can bring to life.

Currently I am reading a book entitled Flooded by Nicki Koziarz. In her chapter entitled "Enough is enough," she says: "Trust often feels like the hard thing. . . in the midst of the hard thing. But I have to also remind myself that God has a habit of doing holy things in the midst of hard things."

Good afternoon,

My hubby has been at it all day. He began by papering much of the floor in preparation of priming the sheetrocked ceiling areas and walls. After his neck grew weary from always looking upwards, he came home and began grinding away on more ceiling tiles.

Donovan has shared with me that in order for this remodel not to get the best of him, he has to break the project down into smaller pieces. Currently his smaller pieces are rather time-consuming, yet week after week progress is being made. Eventually he will allow himself to begin mentally working on the next piece of the puzzle. He knows he has to keep it all in check so that progress is attainable and he doesn't get overwhelmed.

Step by step. Baby steps in the right direction!

Good evening,

I want to share this journal entry, certainly NOT to toot our own horn, but only to let you know how much these words mean to us. You see, running the shop has its own stresses, and the bigger remodel area certainly does. Just like everyone else on planet earth, we get weary and feel the weight of everything sitting on our plate (and running down over the sides!!). So to have folks consistently come to the shop when they are feeling their own set of storms and finding comfort and encouragement within our walls is just a sweet blessing to us. Thank you to whoever you are. You are loved!! ❤️

Good afternoon on a one hundred percent significant day!!!

Today was the first time in the seven year history of Crema Brew that none of the owners nor the owner's family helped throughout the entire day (besides dropping off bagels)!! Haydn, recently promoted to manager, and Mia, recently promoted to assistant manager, did a phenomenal job along with the rest of the team. There's a LOT that goes into the opening and closing of the shop and they pulled it off well!! We are so pleased and grateful for our incredible crew!!
