Good afternoon,

Some of you, well MANY of you, are so kind!!! You share words of encouragement and affirmation in a myriad of ways!

Last Saturday morning did not begin as it should nor as it usually does. Austin, Donovan and I were opening up the day. Before long my hubby discovered that our ice maker was not working but rather just continuously running water through it. Off to Walmart I hustled to grab six large bags of ice. When we were ready to open, we let Donovan attempt to fix our machine while Austin and I ran the shop. I was praying. Outside a group of bikers were huddled together at one of our tables. Knowing that they are believers, I hurried outside and asked them to pray. While all this was happening, I also discovered that our laptop would not turn on. So no music filled our space either. If it's not one thing, it's another!!

But you know, we kept calm and carried on. God did answer our prayers: Donovan found the disconnected hose and Austin got our music running again. What a blessing. Thank you, Lord!!!

Later that same day, a couple came in the shop and began perusing our photo album which shares our shop story. We did not know them. When they were ready to leave, the gentleman came up to Donovan at the espresso bar and let him know how much he enjoyed our story and our shop. Then he laid down a large folded bill, said this is for you and headed out the door! 😳 What a surprise!!! What an encouragement. You know what I told Donovan?? "It let's me know that the Lord still sees us. He sees me!!!"

Today I had the privilege of baking a delicious 😋 marionberry pie. These particular berries are not from around here. There are a few places in the world where they can successfully be grown, and the state of Oregon, specifically in Marion County, is the top spot!! They are large and sweet and delicious, a treat for your taste buds!!! (Yes, my berries were shipped in!).

Good morning (for a few more minutes),

We have enjoyed a beautiful Lord's Day and are looking forward to a delicious lunch with family!

Virtually heading across the great Pond to our beautiful daughter and family living in the Middle East, I'm going to show you the art of harvesting apricots. They were privileged to assist their good friends bring in a glorious harvest. It is a difficult task, time-consuming and quite hot, but oh the joy found in doing hard work, helping friends who needed assistance, and working side-by-side out in God's creation.

We are all planting something.
We will all harvest something.
What or who are our lives investing in?
What results will be gleaned?
Plant well.

Good afternoon,

Gonna quick post while hubby finishes cleaning our ice maker...it's a daunting chore that he faithfully takes care of!! On another note, he FINISHED grinding all the old ceiling tiles. Proud of his accomplishment!!!

Yesterday several bundles of goodies were dropped off by New Life Church as a way of showing their appreciation for us and to bless our employees. A lot of munching on their munchies has been happening today!! Thank you!! ❣️😀 It's their Love Loud Week and they are doing it to the full, not only handing out gift bags but also pressure washing houses and changing oil in vehicles. What a blessing they are!!!

I made MONSTER cookies today.
I made MORNING GLORY muffins today.
I made APPLE CINNAMON bread today.

Gearing up for a great day tomorrow!!

We are also introducing you to our Energy Bears!! We will offer you an iced Starfruit energy drink in either sparkling water or lemonade. It may also be added to any of our smoothies. It has caffeine. It will give you a boost to your day. Enjoy!!!

Besides everything else, I'm going to sign off for tonight. Need to go help hubby finish up. We love you! Cheers from here...

Good hot afternoon,

Yes, that is my hubby, endeavoring to clean another ceiling tin. He has five more to go. Each one takes one to two hours of heavy-duty grinding. Certainly a job NOT for the faint of heart!!

Today we were interviewed by reporter Ms. Kira of the New Bern Sun journal. She was interested in highlighting our Coffee Leaks program as well as our Blessing Box. If you care to see her article, it is scheduled to appear in next Tuesday's addition.

Some good news coming your way if you're concerned about your health...

On this day, July 8, 2026, in HealthDay News of the US News & World Report, a new study printed in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology revealed that drinking as little as one to two cups of coffee a day could significantly lower your risk of serious liver disease.

Now I'll take that. Good advice. Double up on your coffee intake!😁

Good evening,

This afternoon has turned out to be a little rough on my heart.

I have a dream. It is to go back to Alaska, fly out to Port Alsworth and see the place where I lost my brother in the bay as well as the log cabin my Dad built when I was seven. I have never returned. This place has such a pull on my heart. If it's God's will, I hope to one day lay eyes on this beautiful place once again.

Today I learned that our cabin is currently used as a storage building. 😢But as my hubby said, "At least we know it's still standing." It has been a good long while since it was built in 1969. He does make a point!!

Sometimes dreams are hard to attain, but they are still worth pursuing!!

Hello...hope you survived that rain storm! Thankfully, we did, driving home from Bayboro! There was a river falling on our windshield!!!

Happy Fourth of July to each of you!! A wonderful time to be alive and celebrate!

We really enjoyed gathering as a family on the lawn near the Tryon Palace. There was a lovely little breeze to take the edge off the heat. Donovan grilled. We talked and laughed and dreamed and played with the grands. A cherished evening!!!
