THE MOB BOSS - CANNOLI LATTE. šŸ¤Œā˜•ļø

There are some things you don’t question.

You don’t ask where the money came from.
You don’t ask why there’s a shovel in the trunk.
And you sure as hell don’t refuse a cannoli when the family puts one in front of you.

We took our espresso, gave it that sweet cannoli dessert flavor, and created something coma worthy enough to make you forget whatever unfortunate business happened out back.

Consider it an offer you’d be stupid to refuse.

Come in. Sit down. Have a coffee.
Show some respect to the family.

And remember—

Leave the weapons. Shut your mouth. Drink the damn latte.

What happens at Bellator stays at Bellator.

Capisce? 🤌

I’ve heard a few comments about people coming to the shop during our normal operating hours only to find the doors locked, so I wanted to address it.

Not defensively. Not dramatically. Just honestly.

Bellator is a small business, but behind that counter is a very real family with four beautiful kids and a life that doesn’t always give a damn what our business hours say.

If we’re unexpectedly closed, there’s usually a reason. Sometimes we’re slinging coffee at an event. Sometimes we’re sitting on the sidelines of our oldest daughter’s soccer game because we refuse to miss her life just to keep a register open.

But more often than not, it’s medical.

Our youngest, Priscilla, is two years old and medically complex.

She came into this world a little over 26 weeks gestation and spent seven months in the NICU fighting like hell to stay here.

When she finally came home, she was completely ventilator dependent. She could not survive without that machine breathing for her. She couldn’t eat by mouth, so she had a G-tube placed to give her body the nutrition it needed.

And somehow, that tiny little badass has fought her way forward.

Today, she still has her tracheostomy, but she no longer needs a ventilator to breathe. She’s learning to eat and drink by mouth, although much of her nutrition still comes through her G-tube. Her trach isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and neither are the appointments, specialists, surgeries, nursing care, sicknesses, emergencies, or sleepless nights that come with loving a medically complex child.

She requires awake and alert eyes on her 24 hours a day.

Because things can change quickly.

Because sometimes medical equipment fails.

Because sometimes she gets sick.

And because apparently one of Priscilla’s favorite hobbies is casually pulling out the tube she breathes through like it’s no big deal.

So sometimes the coffee shop has to wait.

We love Bellator. We love the strange little community we’ve built inside these walls. We care deeply about showing up for the people who continue to show up for us.

But before we are business owners, roasters and baristas—we are Mom and Dad.

There will be days when the lights are off when they’re normally on. There will be last-minute closures. There will be schedules that change because life changed first.

We will always do our best to communicate it. We will always do our best to show up.

We just ask for a little patience and grace when we can’t.

Bellator may run on caffeine, darkness and questionable amounts of sarcasm…

but we are people with complex lives.

And sometimes loving all four of our babies means putting a closed sign on the door.

Thank you to the ones who understand. šŸ–¤

What a beautiful day it could be!

We have a confession — with the racks up during shop hours, we have been dropping new items as we enter them as a trial run. And it has been a *huge* success! So we are going ahead and doing our September fall drop early. This Saturday, 10AM-2PM we will have our current early fall inventory (some at 15% off now) and new fall/early winter inventory. Come shop at 1301 Country Club Rd.

Priscilla’s surgery went as well as we could have expected. šŸ–¤ Unfortunately, some of her medications have decided to cause a little chaos of their own, and she’s dealing with a few side effects.

Because our girl comes before coffee—always—Bellator will remain closed Wednesday.

We’re giving her another day to recover, keeping a close eye on her, and making sure she’s doing okay before we step back behind the bar.

We plan to reopen Thursday.

Thank you for the patience, the understanding, and especially all the love you’ve sent our sweet Priscilla. It means more to us than you know. šŸ–¤

08/25/2026

Just a reminder that we will be closed today and plan to reopen tomorrow as long as everything goes well with Priscilla’s surgery.

08/23/2026

Bellator will be closed Tuesday, August 25th and back to our regularly scheduled darkness Wednesday. šŸ–¤

Our sweet Priscilla has a scheduled surgery, and when it comes to our babies, everything else gets put on hold.

So Tuesday, the lights stay off. The coffee stays quiet. And we’ll be exactly where we need to be—with our girl.

Keep our warrior, Priscilla, in your thoughts and send some love her way. šŸ–¤

We’ll see you Wednesday, caffeine deprived and ready to raise hell.

Well… apparently the trailer decided it had other plans today. 🫠

On the way to the event, we had a tire malfunction that left the Bellator trailer officially not-so-mobile. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to make it to the event today.

We’re hoping to get our little caffeine crypt back among the living before the day is over, but sadly, it won’t be in time.

We are incredibly sorry to everyone who was expecting us. Trust us—we’re just as disappointed. šŸ–¤

Send good vibes, caffeine, and maybe an exorcist for the trailer.

Tomorrow the shop closes at 11:30am.
Does that suck balls? Yep. Are we sorry? Also yep.

But we’re packing up the caffeine and taking this little sh*tshow on the road for a cause worth closing early for.

From 1:00–3:00pm, find Bellator at a fundraiser supporting the Craven County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. 🐾

Come grab something dark, over-caffeinate yourself, and help support the four-legged officers who could absolutely ruin your day with one command.

Shop: until 11:30am
Fundraiser: 1:00–3:00pm

Closing early sucks.
Closing early for dogs with jobs sucks significantly less. šŸ–¤ā˜•ļø
