To say this past weekend wasn’t something seriously out of my realm in the competitive bbq world would be an absolute lie this being my first SLBS sanctioned competition and all. Lol. Me and the team had a great time and definitely met some new and great teams while we were at the Newton America Legion post 20 Bbq Smoke off. I only got a few pictures from the weekends turn in boxes but we had a great time and look forward to taking some of the things we learned and improving upon the skills we have to be better the next time. Thanks Jim Messina for a great show and all the work you and everyone behind the scenes put into this. Thanks to my teammates Adam, Shane, Brooke, Daphne, and Breighton for all the work and effort that everyone put in to help and keep things moving. Thanks to David Amelunke from the St Louis Bbq Society for sanctioning the show and the absolute wealth of knowledge in competitive Q!

Hey everyone I just wanted to jump on and tell you about a couple upcoming events. Friday and Saturday August 21st and 22nd Uncle D’s is teaming up with Pearhead Bbq in the annual Newton America Legion Post 20 Smoke-off. Be sure to come out to the Newton fairgrounds for a taste of some of the best bbq around from a lot of great teams competing. Also on Friday and Saturday September 11th and 12th Uncle D’s with Jake Westjohn from Dad Bod Bbq will be set up at the Altamont fairgrounds for the Mill Road Threshermans event. Come on out to check out some great antique farm equipment, watch the tractor pulls and don’t forget to get a bite to eat from Uncle D!!! We hope to see you out at these great events because you guys are the ones that make these events GREAT!!!
