🔥🐷 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9TH — CREEK CREW UPDATE!🐷🔥

GOOD FRIDAY AFTERNOON, YOU BEAUTIFUL BUNCH OF SMOKE-LOVING MISFITS!
But before we get to dinner, it's time for another exciting episode of...

🧠 COMPLETELY USELESS FACTS YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR!

🐙 FACT #1: An octopus has THREE hearts, NINE brains, and BLUE blood.

Meanwhile, I've got ONE heart, ONE brain, and neither one has been operating at full capacity since approximately 2018.

🦈 FACT #2: Sharks existed BEFORE trees!

That's right. Sharks have been swimming around for over 400 million years, and somehow we've still got people who can't figure out how a four-way stop works.

🦋 FACT #3: Butterflies taste with their FEET!

Imagine walking barefoot through a buffet and knowing whether the mac and cheese needs salt. THAT'S A SUPERPOWER!

🐢 FACT #4: Some turtles can breathe through their BUTTS!
8PM TONIGHT!
🍖 ST. LOUIS RIBS ROLL OUT AT 4PM!

And just like my motivation on a Monday morning, once they're gone, THEY'RE GONE!

🍔 Smashburgers? YOU BET!
🐔 Chicken? ABSOLUTELY!
🔥 Award-winning BBQ? THAT'S OUR THING!
🍟 Not Just Barbeque? YOU BET YOUR POT STICKER!

And here's one final fact...

❤️ FACT #6: Supporting a small business doesn't require spending a fortune. Sometimes it's a $7 lunch, a shared Facebook post, a kind review, or simply telling somebody where you had a great meal.

Those little things mean more to us than you'll ever know.

We've been firing up these smokers since 2018, and every single day we're reminded that the best part of Sugar Creek isn't what's coming out of the pit.

IT'S THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP COMING BACK TO IT.❤️

So get out here, grab some dinner, bring somebody hungry, and help us make this another Friday worth remembering!

🔥 SATURDAY NIGHT CREEK CREW UPDATE 🔥

Hang on… WHAT IN THE AI IS GOING ON HERE?!

Is this GPT guy drunk?!
Why am I dumping cats out of a spice bag?!

And people are afraid AI is going to take over the world… apparently, it can't even keep the cats IN THE DAMN BAG. 😂

Anyway…

SATURDAYS ARE BECOMING SOMETHING SPECIAL AT THE CREEK.

What. A. Day.

We’re sitting at 22 butt bones so far today — and before anybody calls the health department, those are PORK BUTTS. 😂

As for Smashburgers? I started counting on my fingers, moved to my toes, borrowed a couple from the waitress and finally said screw it. THE GRIDDLE KNOWS THE NUMBER. 🍔🔥

But underneath all the jokes, seriously…

THANK YOU.

Every butt bone, every Smasher, every wing, every Klucker, every person who walks through that door gives us another opportunity to keep doing something we truly love.

Small restaurants don't survive because of some giant corporation behind them. They survive because people decide, “Yep, that's where we're eating tonight.”

And lately, y'all have been choosing us.

That's something I don't ever want to take for granted.

Eight years ago we started this crazy little BBQ adventure with some smoke, some fire, a dream and probably not enough common sense to know what we were getting ourselves into. We've stumbled. We've learned. We've grown. We've changed.

And maybe… just maybe… we're not quite finished changing yet. 👀

But that's enough outta me.

Apparently I've got cats to round up, spices to sift, a smoker to feed and some mysterious jar of sorghum somebody left laying around…

Nothing to see here, Creek Crew.

Absolutely.

Nothing.

To.

See.

Here. 😏🔥🐈

🔥 SUGAR CREEK SATURDAY EVENING UPDATE 🔥

It’s going, going… GONE FAST!

Ribs — GONE.
Brisket — GONE.
Pulled pork — managed to disappear before I could even make this post. 😂

BUT we’ve still got sausage, turkey, smashburgers, wings, Kluckers and more! There’s something here for everybody. Even if you came craving one thing and it’s sold out, go out on a limb and try something different. You might just find a new favorite.

Now for my expensive Saturday morning dilemma…

I’ve got 6 pork butts and 1 brisket that came off the smoker this morning that CANNOT be sold or used for human consumption.

As most of y’all know, we smoke our meats every day over a real wood fire. No gas. No electric heating element. No oven with a smoke box. Just wood and fire. That also means when the fire goes out, the heat goes with it.

Sometime overnight/this morning, our fire went out. When I arrived, the meat was still somewhat warm and cooling, but I have no reliable way of knowing what temperature it reached or how long it may have been outside a safe temperature range.

So there’s no guessing around here — for us, it’s a loss.

The meat is still tough and would require additional cooking, but because its time/temperature history is unknown, THIS IS NOT FOOD FOR PEOPLE. Please don't take it thinking you can finish cooking it and eat it.

I foil-wrapped everything straight off the smoker and put it into the walk-in. If somebody has hogs or another appropriate use for it and wants it, shoot us a message. Otherwise, unfortunately, it’s headed for the trash.

That one hurts the wallet a little. 😭🔥

Anyway… WE’RE STILL OPEN AND STILL COOKING! Come grab some wings, a Smasher, Klucker, turkey or sausage before those decide to disappear too!
