The boys work really hard to grow our dairy cattle genetics for long lasting, high quality genes. Over the years, they have grown our herd to be the highest quality herd this farm has ever been.
Genetics go a long part in not just quality cows, but quality cows that create quality milk which is what we strive for as a home-grown creamery.
In the hottest month of the year, July - when farms struggle to just keep the cows happy and cool, the boys had the cows hit the highest average in production ever. At 113.9 lbs per cow, per day. That equates to 13.2 gallons a day🥛.
We are milking 240 cows with 24 scored Excellent.
16 cows between 160-188lbs per day. We have two pens of older cows averaging 125-130lbs of milk.
We don't showcase our farmers or cows enough so here is a small highlight reel of the cows. The farmers aren't as photogenic but we still appreciate them😝! Shoutout to: the Westendorp boys, Doug, Carlyle, Eric, Troy, & Levi. Zach Pixley, Curtis walker, & Dana Barclay (tends the calves + ensures strong calf health). Without all of you, MOO-ville wouldn't be MOO-ville.
