Hi everyone. We are winding down for the year, kinda sad that we won’t be seeing y’all for a bit. We will close tomorrow, December 31, at 1 pm, and hope (if the weather cooperates) to reopen the weekend after Valentine’s Day for a special celebration of LUV.
I have to tell you that we have absolutely enjoyed every day together, family and friends meeting new friends. What a gift each of you has been, visiting with us and sharing moments of your life.

Well hi everyone. We are going to return to 5 days a week until New Year's Eve. We've had a lot of requests to be open on Tuesdays, so Tuesdays it is!
By the way, if you came by this weekend, we enjoyed visiting with you sooo much! The best part, the very best part, of Our Sandwich Place is the people who come eat with us. Thank you for sharing your time. Merry Christmas to all and drive safe!

Grilled cheese with Smoky cheddar and Smoky horseradish cheeses made with one egg over easy and a heart shaped hotdog! Served with holiday apples!

Hi Becky! Last year you came to visit and sent us some lovely chocolate candy bars, which I, of course, made into ice cream. I wrote you a thank you note, but cannot for the life of me remember if I mailed it (getting old!) Anyway, I ran across your sweet letter today and wanted you to know we're thinking of you.
The nicest people come into Our Sandwich Place!!!

Driving through Brown County the day of the ice storm--you know how a fog will gradually drain all the color out of vibrant greens and oranges when you are traveling in the mountains? Well, today the ice did the same thing. Color fading to white, like a cloud gradually creeping in, like the whisper of good news arriving...So beautiful. I know it's not good for the trees, but it is like a movie set. There's no ugly time to drive through Brown County, that's for sure!
And by the way, I made chocolate covered candy cane ice cream today! I hope it tastes like holidays. Come see us. The cool part of winter is you get the see the bones of the earth, in all its beauty--the shape and structure of the mountains and all the fancy houses that are usually hidden by the trees.
