Viola Powers Couser – Age 87 of Nashville, TN passed away this past Saturday evening, July 30, 2022. Preceded in death by her husband, Norman Couser. Viola has lived all her life in the Nashville area and graduated from Hume-Fogg High School.

Viola and Norman’s love was the same - serving the locals home cooked southern food. Did you know she had a second love? Well, his name is Matt Dillon and she’d watch him every night on Gunsmoke.

As some will know, Viola was a stickler and wanted everything done the right way, there were no such things as short cuts. She believed in hard work and that nothing came easy. She was the boss and ran the roost, but always had a sense of humor and a bit of sass doing it. Viola loved her fellow workers and customers like family and looked forward to seeing them daily.

Till the end of her life, she shared stories of people who walked through the restaurant doors and impacted her life forever.

Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Mausoleum South by Wendell Byrd. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

Today was filled with lots of tears, memories, laughter from funny stories shared, and even a little Dolly Parton music (since she was his favorite customer). Norman served in the Korean War as a cook and now he's serving everyone up in heaven his delicious recipes.

He was a servant leader and will be greatly missed. Thank you for the constant thoughts and prayers. I have shared the comments to Viola. She's incredibly humbled with everyone's remarks and condolences.

To our beloved customers,

Norman Couser passed away last night on Friday, December 9th. It is an incredibly difficult time for the family but we will keep everyone posted with the funeral arrangements once everything is confirmed. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Norman was the best meat and three cook in Nashville! He loved his family and considered his customers as family. He loved the restaurant and looked forward to going to work every day. We are going to miss such a wonderful man.

Hi everyone. As of this morning (11/13/16) Norman was taken back to the hospital. So if anyone would like to still send him a card please send it to Norman's son, John, and we'll make sure it gets to him.
