Florida weave in the outdoor Roma tomatoes. We’re trying out various aisle treatments between biotella rows in this block. Clover, teff, vs bare soil. So far we like the clover. Easy to mow, feeds the soil, and controls the weeds. The teff will have a similar effect but we’ll see what the benefits to the soil will be from each cover crop.

Today one of our Women Farmer mentees came out to the farm to work in one of our tunnels to learn how we trellis our cherry tomatoes, intercrop with radishes seeded with the , use the 4-way precision seeder from Johnny’s, and finally install the drip irrigation on each crop. What a pleasure to be going into year two of this program with and . Thank you to our mentees, program leaders, and fellow farmers!
