Arguably the coolest, underground, treehouse bar in NorCal.

This page is dedicated to a temple of inebriation created from recycled materials, eclectic decoration, and the absolute pursuit of the odd. We have welcomed individuals from all walks of life to ascend the ramp into the bar and leave all preconceived ideas in the dirt below. (Hoping that the individuals previously mentioned can actually descend (at the end of their trip) without ending up in the dirt below.....)

For those of you who have not been paying attention, The Twisted Lizard Tiki Treehouse Bar burnt to death in 2020..
It was rumored to never again rise from the ashes....Sad as that was, in typical lizard fashion, it was able to regenerate and has become the Fire Lizard Lounge!
In a similar location....with the mix of mirth, mayhem, and madness it was known for originally, still intact.
Offering a full menu of semi bespoke cocktails, (meaning those made from whatever is in the bar at the time by whomever is the bartender at the moment.)
Accompanied by a stunning soundtrack, and usually various additional inebriants, used by some to enhance the spiritual aspects of their journey. (Which the proprietors don't condone but many times partake in to assure the expected vibe)
So, basically to follow the shenanigans and special events....(and make your highly coveted reservations)

Following an epiphany while in the men's room at a bar while attending a friend's Bday Celebration, It occurred to me that in order to overcome my post wildfire blues and the inertia involved in starting over on the new bar, I needed to first come up with some merch.....so below is the brand new T shirt design for the upcoming (when is anybody's guess) Fire Lizard Lounge shirt....Smiling splat face on front pocket and big circular logo on back.....so far it's only make believe...whatever that means.....as always stay tuned.

Well after a long bleak period following the wildfire in 2020, I thought I would give an update. While moving along at a snails pace, we are in the infancy of creating another bar in the spirit of the one we lost. This time instead of in the trees it will be on the ground which is rather sad, considering the most basic of the sobriety test in The Twisted Lizard was whether or not a potential patron could navigate the ramp leading into and out of the bar....this time it'll be a rather tame saunter in on relatively flat ground. At this point the only thing we have is the frame work for a structure in the shape of the one below. I'm sure a series of experimental moves eventually this new space will gloriously and absurdly relate to the old one. What that means is anybodies guess.....away we go off in some new direction. We will keep you posted.😜

What began as a signature cocktail, a logo printed on Glow in the Dark cups to give away, and a freaky el-wire sign on the Playa in 2005, morphed into perhaps the coolest underground bar in NorCal by Lake Berryessa. In it’s move it went from a dusted attraction on the side of the road to an amazing amalgam of Tiki-ness perched in a ring of oak trees at the top of a hill. There it continued to generate it’s magic and madness for all that had the pleasure of passing through the red velvet rope.
Visitors of every stripe entered it’s deliciously demented decorated space and proceeded to rage into the night.
The atmosphere Lynka and I started so long ago seemed to gain gravitas with every freak that walked up the ramp.
With that in mind, what started in the desert at a party celebrating all things Fire, ended it’s run in the very same fashion. My only hope is as the flames approached, the lights twinkled, the bottles and glasses exploded with joy, as the plastic parts dripped to the ground like beautiful flaming tears.

Blessed Be…The Twisted Lizard, may you rise from the ashes in some form again!

The Twisted Lizards fate is still unknown....can't get to it yet. While all indications don't look great, I am holding out that the Liz lives and is just artfully blackened around the edges.....There is magic in that bar.....maybe enough.....Time will tell.
