My husband Otello and I live in rural Missouri. We brought our (now) 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Rottweiler mix fur baby, Lily, with us. We rescued her when she was just under a year old, and she has moved with us from Napa, California to Lebanon, Missouri about 2 1/2 years ago. She has adjusted very well and loves all of the open space and abundant wildlife and critters of our home here.
She rapidly developed some soft, lipoma-like lumps on her body, but then began to have larger pockets of swelling on her back hip and entire lower back leg on the other side. She is having a hard time walking, cannot jump onto the bed, and it seems like she might have an intestinal twist or blockage. She is in desperate need of veterinary emergency care. My husband and I are getting by on just his SSA, and we do not have funds for an animal hospital. We've called several, and they all require payment at the time of service or an approved loan through a partner app, which we don't qualify for due to limited income.
