During the summer of 2019, The Dawg House set out to win a contest hosted by USA Today's local newspapers to determine the best Hot Dog in NY/NJ. The chances of winning were improbable, but something deep inside motivated me to go for it. After a few rounds we faced off against the legendary Callahan's. You know how the story ends. We won with the upset of a lifetime. What you probably didn't know is that the man behind our magical victory was a friend named Kevin Tucker. He directed our social media and created an ad campaign that was slick while still maintaining the small neighborhood feel of Clarkstown. Kevin called me fired up after every round and reminded me why I agreed to enter in the first place. I wanted to win for my cousin Christopher who has passed away that April while I was away in England for my dissertation defense. The morning that the results were unveiled Kevin text me one word that said it all: "Victory!". I'm not sure he realized he had helped me arrive at one of the best moments of my life. Earlier this week, I received the sad news that Kevin Tucker passed away suddenly. He is survived by his beautiful wife Benita Lipcer Tucker , his amazing Benjamin Tucker, and his daughter-in-law Rebecca. Today, Benita is spending her first Valentine's Day in over three decades without Kevin. Please join me in expressing our condolences to Kevin's family and in sending extra special love and prayers to Benita. Thank you Kevin for helping the ultimate underdawg beat the odds and for kindness and love you always showed me. I know my Cousin Christopher was there to welcome you to Heaven with tremendous gratitude for all you did for the Dawg House family. You will be missed by many, which is truly the measure of the amazing man that you were in this world. I'll never forget you or the way you touched my life at a time when I needed it most.

Several members of the community reached out to me to talk about Shake Shack opening this week. Some are still very upset about the dispute we had with our landlord. Based on these conversations, I am asking everyone NOT to boycott Shake Shack. Please. I mean that sincerely. This has been my position all along. They will create jobs and employ neighbors in this community at a time when the economy is hurting and jobs are hard to come by. If you feel strongly about the subject, then I encourage you to spend your money at a small business in Rockland, but don't boycott for the sake of boycotting. That just hurts the community and working class people who need to make a living. Especially those who are young and looking for entry level employment. The kindness, loyalty, and compassion of this community is absolutely amazing and the crew and I cannot thank everyone enough for all the love we received and continue to recieve. I love you all very much and my life's journey is better because of our time together. Thank you again to everyone who reached out to me this week. ❤🤍 Jimmy

Earlier this year, The Dawg House was in a horrible situation. Our billionaire landlord and a Wall Street chain restaurant put our backs to the wall during a dispute involving our lease. There was even a threat of driving me into personal bankruptcy if I opposed them. That was when we retained M. Ross and Associates. Our adversaries had a lot more money and top dollar attorneys. Our attorney, Michele Ross, has heart. My Dad always told me you cannot measure the heart of a champion, and Ms. Ross is indeed a champion. She fought hard for us and kept me focused when I'd get emotional. Understanding, thoughtful, and a strong woman who came through big time for my family and me. If you need an attorney, call her. Follow her page and share it with friends. She's now family and someone I am blessed to have in my corner. ❤🤍

M. Ross & Associates LLC is a business law firm serving NJ and NYC that combines the legal sophistication of a leading national firm with the personalized attention of a boutique law office.

I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. 2020 will be the year no one will ever forget. Especially me. While there is much to be sad about, especially the family members and friends that too many of us lost, there is so much to be thankful for and to be proud of this year. This community rose up and showed me kindness and inspiration that exists in this world. It helped me find a courage within myself to keep moving forward during a global pandemic. I live by the lyrics from the song "Superman" by Five for Fighting - "I'm just out to find the better part of me." Every person who came thru our door helped me do just that. I will never forget the fire you lit inside of my soul. We were so proud to be part of your family dinner table time and time again. This evening when I sit down for my Thanksgiving dinner, I will certainly give thanks for each and everyone of you. The place you hold in my heart will be at my family's dinner table. It always will be. I love you all. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for always helping me rise to be a better version of myself. God Bless You. I love you. Jimmy. ❤🤍
