Heads Up!

Since we’ll be closing today at 1:00 PM, we will NOT be serving lunch plates or salads today. This will give our staff extra time to get everything cleaned up and ready for the week ahead.

To our Nakina Diner Family,

First, we want to say a massive thank you AGAIN to everyone who came out to support us yesterday for our grand opening. We are so grateful for this community.

While yesterday was a milestone for our business, it was also a incredibly difficult day for our family. During our opening, we received the heartbreaking news that our beloved aunt passed away. As much as we wished we could have paused everything right then, we had to push through the day but now, we need to take time to be with our family.

Because of this, we will be adjusting our hours for Wednesday. We will open at 5:00 AM and close early at 1:00 PM so that our team and family can attend her funeral, grieve together, and support one another.

We hate that we are having to change our hours right after launching, and we hate even more that we are losing someone so special to us. We are all human, and right now, our family needs to come first for a few hours.

Thank you all so much for your understanding, your patience, and your love as we navigate this bittersweet week. We look forward to seeing you early Wednesday morning, and we will be back to our regular schedule on Thursday.

WHAT A DAY!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who came out and supported us on our very first day. Seeing our little diner filled with so many familiar faces (and plenty of new ones too!) was more than we ever could’ve hoped for.

We also want to apologize for any delays, mix-ups, or mistakes. Opening day kept us on our toes, and we sure appreciate the grace and patience everyone showed us while we worked through the kinks.

We’re learning, we’re listening, and we’ll keep getting better every single day. We promise to work hard to give y’all the best food and the best service we can.

Thank y’all for believing in us, for cheering us on, and for making our first day one we’ll never forget. We are beyond blessed to be a part of this community, and we can’t wait to see y’all again tomorrow. 💛

Tomorrow is Opening Day! 🎉

The wait is finally over! We will officially open our doors tomorrow at 5:00 AM, and we can't wait to serve our community.

We've had so many people asking to see our menu, so we decided to go ahead and share it here on Facebook. Please note that the menu posted does not include prices. Prices will be available in-store, and we wanted to keep this post simple and easy to read.

We also want everyone to know that just because something isn't on our menu right now doesn't mean it won't be in the future. This is our very first time opening and running a diner, and we're learning something new every day. We chose to start with a smaller menu so we can focus on making great food, providing good service, and making sure everything runs smoothly before expanding.
As we grow, we'll be adding new items, listening to your suggestions, and continuing to improve. We truly appreciate your support and patience as we get started.

Hours:

Breakfast: 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Lunch & Dinner: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Drive-Thru opens at 4:30 AM for those needing an early breakfast before work!

Tomorrow is going to be exciting, and we know there may be a few bumps along the way. We ask for a little patience and understanding as our team gets into the swing of things. We promise we're giving it our all, and we're so thankful for everyone who's supported us already.

With only four more sleeps until opening day, we figured it was about time to introduce ourselves!

We’re Diane and Janice, sisters, daughters of Larry & Lois Small, and now the proud owners of The Nakina Diner.

After growing up together, surviving life with three other siblings, raising families of our own, and probably arguing over who Mom’s favorite is for a few decades, we’ve decided to take on our biggest adventure yet… opening a diner!

Our goal is simple: serve good food, welcome everyone like family, and create a place where friends, neighbors, and strangers become family around our table.

Of course, no diner gets opened without a village. We have been blessed with so much love, support, and encouragement from our family and friends along the way. A special shoutout goes to our niece, Ashlynn, our behind-the-scenes MVP! From helping bring our ideas to life to making sure everything came together, she has been a huge part of making this dream a reality, and we are so thankful for all of her hard work.

When you stop by, be sure to say hello… and please don’t ask which sister is in charge…we’ve been debating that for years and still don’t have an answer! 😂

We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors, feed you some good food, and hopefully become one of your favorite stops.

It truly takes a village, and we’re thankful for every single person who has helped us get here. 💛

There are no words for a loss like this. From all of us at the diner, our hearts are broken for Deputy Bost’s wife, his two daughters, and all of his loved ones. He was part of the Nakina community, and we’re asking our community to come together, hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight and take a moment to pray for this family.

We are keeping Deputy Bost’s family, friends, his school community where he served as a resource officer, and his brothers and sisters in blue in our thoughts and prayers. 💙

Well, y’all… it’s official now.

The sign is up at The Nakina Diner!

We’re still putting the finishing touches on everything, so don’t come pulling on the doors just yet we don’t open until July 6th.

But seeing our name up there makes it all feel a little more real. We’re excited, nervous, and ready to serve up some good food.

Thank y’all for the support, encouragement, and excitement. We can’t wait to see everyone soon!

July 6th will be here before we know it. 💛

We’re excited to be part of the Southern Oak Farms Grand Opening on June 27th!

The Nakina Diner will be preparing a FREE hot dog lunch, and we’d love for you to come out and support this wonderful local business as they celebrate their big day.

While we’re there helping Southern Oak Farms kick things off, we’re also counting down the days until The Nakina Diner officially opens on July 6th!

Come meet us, grab a hot dog, enjoy the vendors and giveaways, and help us celebrate a great day for our community.
