π¨ Creativi-TEA! Since the very first year of my little tea shop, the color sheets have been a core part of my small business ambiance. Expression, creativity & making sure kiddos always know they have a place in our shop is deeply important to me. Many of the sheets on the wall upstairs in our 1st OBX location were drawings & sheets made by the OG Little Rock Tea kiddos who frequented my shop. Combined with new OBX kiddo sheets, the walls were FULL once we packed it all up and moved downstairs a couple months ago.
I spent the weekend organizing all those color sheets - yes, I have kept every single one! They now fill TWO full binders so that if any of those kiddos come back this year they won't be disappointed that their artwork is not up on the walls anymore. Some of these kiddos (Especially the ones in Little Rock!) are now teenagers with their own insta & tiktoks! (ππΌπ
) It's hard to believe, but that's what nearly a decade in business will do to ya! We are all growing up SO fast!
Jordan & I started on new color sheet walls though! New kiddos, new memories & a new Tea & Records combined color sheet to add to our Lucy Teapot & Spin The Fox options!
What I love the most about this part of our shop & the history we carry to each new space is the originality of the kiddos, and...me. It's so hard to put yourself out there & to share your colors, ya know? But we do it so we can show others it's okay to be yourself. That it's safe to share, to be colorful, to be authentic, to make it personal, and to really care about the little things in life.
Our tea & record shop is so much more than a job & a way to pay our bills. It is our literal selves out here on these shelves. Not every day is perfect but dang - we really love it. π₯Ή It's all we got - a complete embodiment of who we are, the kids we were, and who we hope to be. All the love we might have given to our own kiddos & even our inner kiddos, too.
So, here's to new walls ready for new colors & memories. Come share my crayons & be a part of what we are creating because the thing about being yourself is it keeps you so busy, so focused, that you don't have time to try being anyone else. πΏππ¨
