Grass-Fed Double Patties. Crispy melty cheese. Bacon. Pickle umami sauce. Tomato. Red onion. Shredduce. House-made milk bread buns. And yes… there are four patties in this photo because moderation is a social construct. Mystic Fish Camp’s Poor Man’s Lobster Roll has been named one of the 10 Best Dishes We Ate in March by Food & Wine. 🐟⛺️

What an incredible surprise to wake up to. We are so thankful to updates editor Molly McArdle for featuring our spin on a New England favorite. 🙏

Our take on the classic features monkfish standing in for lobster, with green crab butter making a very convincing argument for ingredients often overlooked. A love letter to the underdogs of our local waters, and a reminder that the future of seafood is wider, more resilient, and more delicious than we’ve been taught to imagine. 🧡

Thank you for celebrating the diversity of our fisheries with us.

Martha Stewart said lobster rolls are going to $60 this summer. We said let us introduce you to someone. 🦞✨

Meet the PMLR — our Poorman’s Lobster Roll, and she is NOT playing around.

We poach local monkfish in green crab stock — yes, that green crab, one of the most invasive species on our coastline — using hundreds of pounds a week. Monkfish has long been called the poor man’s lobster because it shares a similar diet, which gives it that same sweet, firm, meaty texture lobster lovers go crazy for. So while we’re serving you something absolutely delicious, we’re also pulling double duty: skipping a pressured fishery and putting a dent in an invasive one.

Good for the coast, great for your wallet, incredible on a plate.

The result? Sweet, meaty, buttery perfection served hot or cold in a split-top roll, alongside hand-cut fries or our house-made salt & vinegar onion rings.
