Long before Myrtle Beach became the destination we know today, the magnificent Ocean Forest Hotel set the standard for luxury on the Grand Strand.

Built on part of a breathtaking 65,000-acre property stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Waccamaw River, the hotel was envisioned as the premier resort between New York and Miami. Designed by legendary architect Raymond Hood—best known for Rockefeller Center in New York—it featured a stunning 13-story tower, nearly 300 guest rooms, a saltwater pool, a massive gymnasium, a five-lane bowling alley, and even saltwater baths.

It wasn't just a hotel—it was a destination unlike anything else on the East Coast.

At Carolina Seafood & Steak, we're proud to help preserve the history of Myrtle Beach. Many original décor elements from the Ocean Forest Hotel still live on inside our historic restaurant, keeping the legacy of this remarkable landmark alive for future generations. ❤️
