A positive update on Don

We wanted to share some encouraging news. Don is doing remarkably well, especially mentally. Flo says the difference in him since surgery has been incredible.

Don had been struggling with problems in this foot for four or five years, including significant pain and the limitations of having to wear a large medical boot. Looking back, neither of them realized just how much the infection and everything happening with his foot had been affecting him.

Rather than looking at the amputation only as something he has lost, Don is looking forward to what it may give back to him.

He has already been talking with a coworker who has a prosthetic on the opposite leg and has been able to share some of his experience with Don. His surgeon has also been very encouraging about what Don may be capable of with his eventual prosthetic.

Flo told me Don is excited about the possibility of no longer having his bad foot and that big black boot holding him back. Most importantly, she said his outlook is wonderful and that she is incredibly proud of him.

There is still a long road of healing and rehabilitation ahead, but Don is approaching it with an incredible attitude.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared the fundraiser, reached out, or prayed for Don and Flo. Your support is helping take some of the financial pressure away while they concentrate on what matters most — getting Don healthy, home, and moving forward.

Friends, family, and our Mr. Quick community — we’re asking for a little help for two very special people.

Flo and Don Mitcheltree have been hit with a sudden and life-changing medical emergency.

After dealing with serious problems in his foot, Don developed a severe infection that progressed to sepsis. Doctors ultimately determined that a below-the-knee amputation was necessary to protect his health.

Thankfully, the infection had not spread as high as initially feared, but Don now faces a significant recovery and rehabilitation process ahead.

During that time, Don’s income will be significantly reduced, and the financial pressure of hospitalization, rehab, transportation, meals, and recovery-related expenses can add up quickly.

Flo has always been someone who gives so much of herself to others, and now we have an opportunity to help take a little pressure off their family while Don focuses on healing.

We’ve created a GoFundMe to support Flo and Don through this recovery.

If you’re able to donate, any amount would mean a great deal. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this post and keeping them in your prayers would mean just as much.

Thank you for helping us support one of our own. ❤️🙏

Some things are bigger than what’s on the menu. ❤️

It’s burgers hitting the grill. Fries coming out hot. A shake made just right.

But it’s also families around the table. Lunch with an old friend. Kids growing up with their favorite order. And the simple moments together that become memories before we even realize it.

That’s what Mr. Quick has always been about.

Good food. Good people. Great memories.

Thank you, Muskegon, for continuing to make Mr. Quick part of your story. 🍔🍟🥤

More than a quick bite. A Muskegon tradition.

🍔 DALTON AIN’T WORRIED… BUT THE REST OF THE INTERNET SURE IS. 😂

At this point, we’ve read the comments.
We’ve seen the videos.
We’ve watched the responses to the responses to the responses. 👀

And apparently several million people have now been assigned to this relationship without ever applying for the position. 😂

So Mr. Quick would officially like to offer our services as a neutral location for peace negotiations.

Dalton. Sako. Sit down.

Six burgers. One pound of fries. A couple Mr. Quick drinks.

Nobody posts.
Nobody goes Live.
Nobody reads the comments.

Just eat. 😂🍔🍟

Because if the Mr. Quick Super Bundle can’t bring peace to this situation…

we’re gonna need a bigger bundle.
