Friends!! Closing early yesterday means I've got a whole extra brisket wrapped up and untouched in the fridge. It's a bummer for me, but might not be for you, 😂.

HOT HONEY BBQ PORK BELLY BURNT ENDS

I used a cowboy candy rub on pork belly and glazed it with a honey barbecue and hot honey mix.
Sweet with a touch of heat. 🙂

🍁 Maple Chipotle Pulled Pork is LIVE 🍁 🍁

I used a special maple barbecue rub and made a Vermont maple syrup pepper barbecue sauce to have with it! I was dreaming of tall trees and breakfast with fall colors in upstate New York. I'm really enjoying this pork special and I think you will, too. The sauce is thicker than my normal and leaves a slow, lingering mild burn.

Friends! My family has a trip to the northeast coming up (my kids are going to see where I grew up and went to college for the first time!) and it's got me excited/nostalgic for fall weather and flavors from home.
With that in mind, I smoked my pork shoulder this week with a maple rub and will have a maple pepper barbecue sauce to try out with it.
I'm also bringing back pork belly burnt ends (this time with a hot honey BBQ glaze. 🔥

One of the fun things about this business is the little stuff my kids proudly own. They help me unload the groceries, stock the drink case, organize the sodas, and other things. They enjoy being a part of it and earning some extra 💸! 😂
Like this here: my little guy Hawk wants to be The Guy to crush up the dust for Mac and cheese topping.
It's a small thing, but when it's Saturday morning and I've got a zillion things going on, it's one less thing to worry about and I can sincerely give him a high five and tell him 'good job.'
He gets those granules finer than I do!

Man, what a great weekend!! We got to cater the Derby Women's Golf Tournament and the Mulvane 20th high school reunion on top of regular service. I'm lucky I've got my lady and now a small team helping out in all the odd ways you need it when you're a small barbecue business.

Prepping burnt ends and it's hard to let some of them go! I mean, a piece like this does not need glaze and more rub!
We are OPEN on this cool(er) Fall day at 11am!
Brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, smoked chicken thigh, smoked Mac and cheese, fresh potato salad and coleslaw, and bbq baked beans!
