The dahlias are gorgeous. The weather? Not so much. That means a slow day so.... I cook.
Made a pot of tomato soup and am working on a batch of mac and cheese because it's feeling like that kind of day.
I am glad we have gotten some rain though. It's much needed.

It's a large, iced, 1/2 sweet, extra shot sort of day. As I was merging onto I-5 I realized I'm pretty sure I forgot to shut off the water to the cow trough. Thank goodness for good neighbors who are willing to go check. (Thank you George & Heather).
Now I'm caffeinating and ready to tackle Chef Store and Costco. It's stock up day and today the car will be fully overloaded. Should of brought the dodge, but a/c doesn't work in it.

Tomorrow is the only day I will be in Molalla. Beginning Wednesday I am back at Swan Island Dahlias. Will be there until Sept 3rd.
Sept 4 is Pac Pride. Sept 5 & 6 is Russell Ranch for Scooters Memorial Roping.

Don't ask why, but somewhere within the grey matter residing in my skull the idea popped up that chili sounds really good.
Chili it is. I'll also have chili cheese fries and a chili burger.
There is potato salad, pasta salad or fresh watermelon as additional sides today. Still making watermelon slushies as well. Feeling sluggish? Add a pump of Lotus Energy, it's pretty tasty.

Open until 3:00 at Pac Pride.
Breakfast is going until 11:00. I just finished up a fresh batch of gravy for burritos and biscuits.

It's lunch time!!
Just finished up a Potato Salad and also have a Spiral Pasta Salad chilling in the fridge.
If you're looking for something cold I've got lots of frozen watermelon on hand to make Watermelon Slushies or have a cup of frozen watermelon. Love that on a hot day.
Here at Pac Pride until 3pm. Opening tomorrow morning for breakfast at 7am.

This week begins about a month of weird schedules with lots of moving around.
I'll post the weeks schedule every Monday. This week:
Tuesday-Thursday @ Pac Pride 7-3
Friday - Saturday @ Coleman Guest Ranch
Closed Sunday & Monday.

I have a bit of wrenching to do on the trailer before I can open tomorrow (I found out what made the horrible noise on Saturday) but it shouldn't take me long. Might open a few minutes late. Got it mostly fixed but didn't have the correct tools and my pocket knife can only do so much.

Food Truck fun

Think I like the position I put the trailer in today when I got back. It's facing the road at a better angle and I'm fairly level.
Now the question is how do I get it out when I have to move it again on Friday??
It took me a few sketchy back ups, a jack knife, a sound that wasn't right (I still don't know where it came from) and multiple choice words to get here. If you're really bored at 5:30 Friday morning grab a cup of coffee and watch me get all sorts of irritated as I extricate myself. 😆

I do have a plan. But my plans tend to be.....a bit in left field.

I do have to say the oldest is getting pretty good at getting grandma backed up to the trailer. Might have to start paying her.

Happiness in a cup...at least until empty. It's much needed today.

Clam Chowder is getting started and as soon as burrito potatoes get out of the pot I'll get started on Mac & Cheese for dinner.
Dinner is Meatloaf with Mac & Cheese. Starts at 4:00.
Later on I'll have my two favorite helpers here. Maybe I can get them to be car hops. At least until they're distracted by crayons and new writing tablets. 😆

Open until 7:00 at Pac Pride.
Tomorrow at Coleman Ranch.
9am until cutting is done (3:00ish?) Open for everyone to come check out.
