Sabias que: La Morisqueta 🤤

La morisqueta es uno de los alimentos más conocidos en la región de Tierra Caliente en el estado de Michoacán.

El año de su creación es incierto, pero su origen está en discusión entre los municipios de Apatzingán y Nueva Italia.

Los ingredientes tradicionales de este platillo son: arroz cocido, salsa roja con queso o carne de cerdo, acompañados por frijoles y crema.

La historia de la morisqueta inició con un grupo de nativos, quienes pusieron un puñado de arroz entre hojas de vástago, formando un envoltorio y puesto en un hoyo utilizado para hornear carne, obteniendo arroz cocido.

Hoy en día la morisqueta se combina con tostadas, tacos dorados, gorditas, enchiladas o se le puede acompañar con adobera y carne asada. Así pues, la morisqueta se ha convertido como una guarnición perfecta en Tierra Caliente.

We realize that not everyone enjoys seafood so we thought of a little snack to have available. Who likes elotes?!

Elotes are a very popular Mexican street food. It is boiled corn on the cob that is coated with mayonnaise (sour cream will be provided as an option for those who don’t like mayonnaise), cotija cheese, powdered chile, and Tapatio hot sauce.

There will be a very limited quantity so be sure to come by and get yours before we sell out!

For those of you that would like to preorder for the ceviche or aguachile, let us know! We will secure a plate for you.

Happy belated 4th of July everybody!

The last pop up was incredible!! We are so incredibly grateful for every person that came out to support us and enjoy our food.

Our next pop up will be Monday 07/10 12:00pm-3:30pm or till sellout at The Village Hub located at
3154 Woodside Road, Woodside, CA, 94062.

Since it’s finally feeling like summer, we are excited to bring some fresh seafood this time around, ceviche and aguachile!

Ceviche is a classic favorite that consists of shrimp, cucumber, red onion, jalapeños, cilantro and tomatoes, marinated in a lime broth. This is perfect for a refreshing hot weather meal.

Agua chile also contains shrimp, cucumber, and red onion, and is marinated in a lime and serrano (green salsa) broth. For the people that DO enjoy a little spice, this dish does have a slight kick to it!

Both options come with avocado and tortilla chips. Drinks will be sold separately.
