Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce Provides Update on Red, White & Blue Festival Fireworks
Mountain Home, Ark. — The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce regrets to announce that the fireworks display traditionally scheduled for Saturday evening at the 26th Annual Red, White & Blue Festival is not expected to take place.
This development came as a complete surprise to the Chamber staff and Festival Committee. For the past 25 years, the Red, White & Blue Festival has partnered with the same professional fireworks company, which has successfully produced not only this event's display but numerous community fireworks shows throughout the region.
Throughout the planning process, festival organizers remained in regular communication with the company and had every reason to believe this year's display would proceed as scheduled. The first indication of a problem occurred Friday afternoon when festival staff arrived on the Arkansas State University–Mountain Home campus to prepare for the event and discovered the fireworks crew had not arrived to begin setup. Multiple attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered.
We want to emphasize that this is NOT weather-related. The pyrotechnics company is simply not fulfilling their contract with the festival.
There was absolutely no indication prior to Friday that the fireworks provider would be unable to fulfill its commitment. Had festival organizers been aware of any concern, they would have immediately begun pursuing alternative arrangements.
Festival organizers explored every available option to secure a replacement display. However, due to the specialized equipment, permitting requirements, and logistics involved in producing a large-scale public fireworks show, it was not possible to obtain another provider on such short notice.
Despite this unexpected circumstance, the 26th Annual Red, White & Blue Festival will continue as planned. The weekend's schedule includes the rodeo, 5K race, parade, live entertainment, food and retail vendors, Kid Zone activities, and all other planned events.
The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes that many families and visitors look forward to the annual fireworks display and deeply regrets the disappointment this news may cause. The Chamber remains grateful to its sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community partners whose dedication has made this year's festival possible and remains committed to providing an outstanding celebration for the community.
The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce & Red, White & Blue Festival Committee sincerely apologizes to festival attendees, vendors, sponsors, and the community for this unforeseen situation. Additional updates will be shared if more information becomes available.
