If it’s been on your bucket list to come enjoy a meal at the Flower Farm - this is your sign to get out here this week! Saturday will be our final regular food service for the season. It’s been a joy to get more local food on your plate and in your belly through our farm kitchen, and even more of a joy to see many of you return week after week to share a meal with friends and family on the patio. Chef Savana has cooked up a smorgasbord of delicious delights all season and this week is no exception.

Swipe through for this week’s menus. The Farm Store will be stocked up with the usual fare - organic produce, fresh flowers, grocery goods, and apothecary products.

Even though we’re sunsetting food service, the Farm Store will continue to be open through December 19th! We’ll have coffee, tea, and occasional baked goods on Saturday mornings. Sign up for our newsletter to hear about other special food events and keep up with what’s happening at the store.

Holy peppers! Has the Farm Store ever held so much beautiful color on these tables?! Come see the shiny array of peppers in person and pick up an abundance of fresh local produce. The Farm Store is open Saturday 9am-noon.

Next Saturday, September 5th is the final opportunity to eat food at the flower farm! If this has been on your bucket list all summer, make a plan to come out tomorrow, next Thursday (smoked lamb ribs!), and next Saturday morning to enjoy a meal with us before we close up the farm kitchen for the season.

And we’ll see you at the Iowa City Farmers Market Saturday morning like always with lots of flowers and pastured lamb cuts! Jeremy Wilhelm

My Saturday morning rituals: waking up before the sun rises, schleppin’ buckets of flowers, topping off my mug multiple times with hot coffee, saying hello to many beautiful people, sending you home with many beautiful goods.

Come see us at our Farm Store just south of Mt Vernon from 9am-12pm where we’re serving breakfast and have a very full barn full of incredible veg and meat and flowers.
Or see us at the Iowa City Farmers Market and pick up your weekly flowers and pastured Jeremy Wilhelm lamb cuts.

For the past six summers, every single Saturday morning has been spent vending at a farmer’s market. Jeremy and I took a mid-season mini weekend vacation and what was the priority event on our list? Go to a farmer’s market, of course! It was very fun to go to the Dane County Farmers' Market and see all the incredible dahlias and flowers and veg and support farmers in the Madison area. Glad I had my bouquet bag bc these flowers were hefty! I surprised myself by picking out a red bouquet when I’ve sworn off growing red flowers 😳 but the dahlias were calling to me and white statice was so gorgeous.. so maybe we should grow more red flowers next year?! What do you think?

Thanks to the crew for running our own farmer’s market stall and farm store over the weekend! We 💕 markets and everyone who shows up weekend after weekend to support small businesses. You can catch us at the Iowa City Farmers Market every Saturday til Halloween and come visit our Farm Store til the winter solstice.

The fix for rainy day blues? Flower therapy! Which of these color palettes suits your mood? Peruse them all at the Iowa City Farmers Market and our Farm Store Saturday morning and choose for yourself. It’s been a rainy weird week and it might be a rainy weird market morning but I hope you’ll brave the drizzle and come out to get some fun funky fresh flowers.

Iowa City Farmers Market 7:30-12pm with all the flowers! There won’t be Jeremy Wilhelm lamb cuts this week but we’ll be back with those next week or you can find them all at our Farm Store.

Emma Barber Farm Store 9am-12pm. Fresh veg, herbs, bread, meats! Savana is cooking up breakfast - quiche and savory pancakes (full menu in stories) with coffee and baked goods.

Reminiscing on the bouquets we sent out to CSA members in July. Photos are a lifeline for me as the details of each week blur together by this point in the season. Putting together new color palettes and combinations of flowers will never get old. In fact I think that’s one of the aspects of flower farming that is the most fulfilling for me, pulling the color out of the field and whirling them around in our hands and wrapping them up in paper and handing them over to you. We’re halfway through our flower CSA season which means there’s a whole lot more to come. August shares are full but we can still take a few more members for September and for our special dahlia share that runs for 3 weeks at the end of September / early October. Sign up on our website 🌸

So many good flowers coming in from the fields right now! It’s making bouquet assembly a heckuvalotta fun. Grab a ready-made bouquet this Saturday at our Farm Store 9-12 or the Iowa City Farmers Market 7:30-12, then mark your calendar and come make your own extravagant floral creation next Thursday at our flower farm! We’ll have an abundance of flower stems and foliage out for you to pick and choose the design of your dreams. Jeremy and Savana will be slingin tacos and they’ll be so so delicious. ¡Flower Bar! ¡Taco Bar! Don’t miss it!

This is the best time of year to eat local and we’re making it easy to do so! Come to the Farm Store to stock your fridge and load up on some of the most gorgeous fresh produce and good food. Swipe through for a list of produce we’ll have available tonight and Saturday. Green beans!!! Zucchini, tomatoes, new potatoes, cucumbers, fresh onions, kale, rhubarb, herbs, so good!

Savana’s been busy in the farm kitchen prepping some amazing food for ya. We’ll set up seating in the shade under the carport, and you can always take food to go!

Oh and you know there’ll be flowers. Lots and lots of flowers!
