LIBERTY TAP ROOM & GRILL ANNOUNCES PLANS TO REBRAND RESTAURANT INTO EVENT SPACE

(April 25, 2019 –Mount Pleasant, SC) Co-owners Jerry Scheer and Mark Cumins announced today that Liberty Tap Room & Grill, located at 1028 Johnnie Dodds Blvd in Mount Pleasant, SC, will close its doors Friday, April 26th after dinner service. The neighborhood restaurant has been a Mount Pleasant fixture for almost 10 years and has been in the Homegrown Hospitality Group for almost 25 years, as it was previously a TBonz Gill & Grill.

The decision to transform the space was reached after receiving a steady increase in inquiries for an event space. The owners plan to explore rebranding the 8000-square foot restaurant into a venue for private parties, wedding receptions, and dinners. Homegrown Hospitality Group Marketing Director Emmy Scott says of the change, “We have loved serving the Mount Pleasant community for almost 25 years, as both TBonz and Liberty Tap Room, but we have listened to the requests and think transforming the space into an event venue will better suit us a company and the surrounding neighborhoods.”

Scott also noted that with the major labor shortage that all Charleston restaurants currently face, Homegrown Hospitality Group will be able to quickly place existing Liberty staff members at its sister restaurants including Pearlz Oyster Bar, Kaminsky’s Dessert Cafe and TBonz Gill & Grill locations in downtown Charleston and in West Ashley.
