Because I can no longer work I will not be adding any more items tyo the giving tree. It has been heart warming to help so many people. If you would like to put items on it. please put them in plastic bags and put a string on them to hang. Socks. hats and gloves for men. women and children are always welcome. Please consider helping the less fortunate. Thank you Greg for letting me use your store front.

Good morning friends. Yesterday was the most amazing day. My retirement party was HUGE. I want to thank Greg, Lynn and Shawn for all the love they put into it. It was a great time seeing all the people, the cards, flowers and hugs and of course my favorite carrot cake baked by Lynn McCarthy. Thank you Lynn, it was awesome. I will miss each and every one that came and those who couldn't make it. I hope I didn't miss speaking to you if you were there. If I did, it wasn't intentional. The McCarthy's and Downtown Drug Store will always be a part of my family.

Good morning friends. Today is the end of a great job, the one I enjoyed the most. There will be an open house for me to thank and greet my customers at the Soda Shoppe from noon till 2pm. I have decided it is time to retire after 70 years of cooking. I am going to miss it a lot but the time has come. I hope you can stop in for some cake and coffee. I would love to have the chance to say thank you for your support and friendship. See you about noon.

Good morning friends. Today's suggested sandwich is a tuna melt served with chips or a salad $7.75. Our soup is cream of potato, small $3.75, large $5.75. We also have ice cream. We serve lunch till 2:30 and ice cream till 3. We look forward to seeing you.

Good morning friends. It's Monday and we are open today. Our menu is a bit limited. Our suggested sandwich is a Reuben on rye with chips or a salad $8.25. Our soup is cream of broccoli, small $3.75-large $5.75. Lunch is served from 10:30 till 3 and ice cream from 9 till 3. Take out orders call 989-772-2315 and we will have it ready for pick up. Located in McCarthy's Downtown Drug Store, your Good Neighbor Pharmacy is ready to serve all your pharmacy needs.

Good morning friends. Thank you for your continued support and patience with me. It was a rough 2 days but I knew it would be hard. We will be closed the rest of the week and open again next Monday and Tuesday. Have a great week.

Good morning friends. It was a hard day yesterday, but I will be back today. Our suggested sandwich is a grilled turkey and swiss on white, wheat or rye bread served with chips or a veggie salad $7.75. Our homemade soup is chicken noodle, small $3.75 large $5.75 and of course ice cream. Our menu is a bit limited till I can get back in the swing of things again. We will only be opening Monday and Tuesday to start. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Good morning friends. It's finally here!! I am coming back to work. Going to give it my best. Some things on the menu will not be available at first. We are having homemade bean soup (small $3.75 large $5.75). Our sandwich is a grilled ham and cheese 7.00. We will have a chef salad 6.75 and of course ice cream. Lunch is served from 10:30 till 3 and ice cream from 9 till 3. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I am going to post this tonight because I have an early therapy appointment tomorrow.. Mornings are a bit tough. This is my last week of therapy. I still have swelling in my foot and leg but my back is a lot better. My plan is to come back to work next week but only 2 days. Open Monday and Tuesday and close the rest of the week. If I feel I can handle more later, I will be open Wednesdays but I probably won't work 5 days again. That is my plans but we will have to see how well I can handle it. I can't wait to see all my friends and coworkers. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and cards. I appreciate every one of them. I hope to see you next week, be patient, I won't be as fast as I was but will give it my best.

Good morning friends! Thanks for lots of thoughts and prayers, I am gaining quite well. Most pain is gone and I can walk a lot better. I have 4 more physical therapy sessions and then I will done with that. I do have a little swelling in my foot that makes it hard to walk. I will be making a decision on when I can come back soon. I may only be able to work a couple days a week at first. Keep me in your prayers, I want to come back. Thank you.

Good morning friends. First in would like to say a big " thank you" for all the cards, thoughts and prayers I have received. They mean a lot to me. I am gaining strength but it is slow. I am still doing physical therapy twice a week. Old bodies don't heal as fast. I have 3 Dr appointments this week. I hope to see you soon.

Good morning friends. It's time for an update. I am still doing physical therapy and it is helping but I still have a way to go. My hip is a big problem. That is about all I can tell you today. Hope to see you soon.
