We'd have to agree!!!

A hyperlocal New England dish, the stuffed quahog, or “stuffie,” is especially suited to home cooking, and delightfully in reach. https://nyti.ms/3TT7Gc0

We miss you all in Charleston but here is a little glimpse on how Chef Court is spending his summer. The Old Village Store has operated since 1880. It was recently renovated by a local Cape Codder that grew up right in West Barnstable. If you're on Cape this Summer stop by to pay Court a visit, and step back in time on Old Cape Cod.

Chef Courtney Tomer joins us this summer from Charleston, South Carolina, where he graduated from culinary school and worked alongside some of the city’s best chefs at acclaimed restaurants including FIG, JBistro, Edmund’s Oast Brewing, The Glass Onion, and most recently, Lowland Tavern.

Despite earning his chops in the Lowcountry, Courtney is no stranger to New England. He grew up in Eastern Connecticut, where he spent countless days trout fishing the Natchaug River with his dad and brothers and skiing in Vermont. Early trips to Maine sparked a lifelong love of lobster and whole belly clams. His wife, meanwhile, grew up just down the road in East Sandwich, making Cape Cod a meaningful part of their story together.

Together, they own Co-Hog, a Charleston-based food truck that brings the flavors of New England to the streets of the Holy City.

In one of those small-world moments, Courtney found his way to the team at TOVS through a shared passion for clam chowder, storytelling, and great hospitality. As the menu expands this summer, look for dishes inspired by the abundance of Cape Cod, the culture of the Lowcountry, and Courtney’s Penobscot heritage.

A few weeks ago on Sandy Neck, we decided if you want to find Co-Hog this summer, it will have to be on Cape. Stay tuned...
