It has recently come to my attention that false information is being spread about my mom and the reason her business closed. I normally wouldn’t give rumors the time of day, but when someone else chooses to speak on my mom’s health, livelihood, and business as if they know the circumstances, I feel like it deserves to be addressed.
As we stated when we announced the closing of Between the Lakes Nutrition, my mom received three new health diagnoses that made it physically impossible for her to continue running the business the way she had been. Around that same time, we were also dealing with an extremely difficult situation involving the landlord, including disputes over payment information and being told the business needed to leave the property. It was a lot happening at once, and ultimately, closing was the decision that needed to be made for my mom and her health.
What is disappointing is hearing that another nutrition shop in the area has apparently decided to tell a different version of a situation they were never personally involved in. Unless you were part of the conversations, saw the documentation, or lived through what our family was dealing with behind the scenes, you simply do not know the full story.
We were completely transparent with our customers when we closed, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who supported Between the Lakes over the years. My mom poured so much of herself into that business, and she deserves to move on from that chapter without other businesses spreading rumors or rewriting the circumstances surrounding its closing.
I’m not naming names because this isn’t about creating drama or sending anyone after another business. I’m simply asking that people stop speaking on situations they were not involved in and stop spreading information about my mom that is not theirs to tell. There is plenty of room for everyone to run their own business without tearing down someone who is no longer even in the industry.
Thank you,
Morgan
