Oh what a beautiful day started out there. Take some time to appreciate the beauty we sometimes take for granted. The color show is about a week away, but already the dark reds and some oranges are just beginning to tip out. Get ready for the "leaf peepers" everywhere for the next three weeks, some slowing down and actually stopping in the middle of the road for a perfect view. We are all good at taking care so they enjoy our area to the max. We will take care of feeding them and giving them a history lesson about our area and the Swedish connection.
Jeff Wolfe, who is in charge of the clearcoat, just stopped to say my Dala Horse is completed and ready to pick up. Should have it "corralled" in front of the shop by the end of the day. Cement pad is planned for next week.
Friday is our HADDOCK FISH FRY or FISH SANDWICH, served with fries, and side of Coleslaw or Mac Salad. Soups are Sausage Tortellini and Chicken Noodle, all available here and in to-goes.
Flavored coffee is Chocolate Raspberry, and the Lattes and Frappes will be a item the next few weeks. Stop in in and check out all the flavors available.
Amy has Bite-sized Mini Pumpkin Tarts and & Apple Pie Cheesecakes (maybe three bites). Delicious and shareable! And now making Pumpkin Spice Cookies. The case is full of goodies just waiting for your decerning eye.

43 at my house this morning, but the sky is clear and lots of sun to warm us up. Thursday's special is GRILLED CHEESE & SOUP with DESSERT. Soups are Chicken Noodle, Autumn Chicken Wild Rice, Tortellini Sausage, and Chili. Some like to dip their grilled cheese in their soup, and one person tears her sandwich into little pieces and stirs it right into her soup. Hey, we don't care, just enjoy the homemade goodness.
Flavored coffee is Snickerdoodle, with the Chai Latte king again today. Try some pumpkin spice in your coffee or chai, it is so good this time of year.
Amy is in to bake today, making Pumpkin Mini Tarts, and more cookies. We have Peach Mini Pies, Brownie Fingers, Cinnamon Rolls, Swedish Scones, Swedish Rye Bread, and a huge cookie selection.
Stop on in and enjoy our little world, you'll be glad you did.

Autumn Equinox today, summer is winding down. It was an odd one with lots of rain and cooler temps. Oh well, better luck next year.

Monday's special is BEEF ON WECK, with FRIES, or MAC, or POTATO SALADS. Soups are Stuffed Pepper, Chicken Noodle, and new soup - Autumn Chicken Wild Rice, which is gluten free and tastes wonderful. Those of us that can only eat G.F. usually know the trade-off is flavor, but there are exceptions like this soup.

Saturday's special is our homemade BREAKFAST BAKE, made with same ingredients as a Western Omelet, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms on half of the large bake all between two pastry sheets. It smells awesome now coming out of the oven.
Flavored coffee is Southern Pecan, and we would love to make your favorite Latte or Frappe. Check out the many flavors available and choose between 2% milk or Almond Milk.
Amy baked individual Apple Cream Cheese Cups, Cherry & Peach Mini Pies, Banana Polk Cake, Cinnamon Rolls, Swedish Scones, Energy Balls, Viking Balls, and so many cookies. And I always forget to list the Swedish Rye Bread, which we sell by the loaf whole or sliced and use for so many of our sandwiches and menu items. It compliments every order.
After today, the weather takes a turn toward cooler and wetter.
Still hoping for a long Indian Summer stretch right up to Thanksgiving. What are the chances?!!!

Thursday with a little rain throughout the day. The springs and wells are full, the creeks are high, and the ground is "squishy", which is unusual for this time of year. The grass never did slow down and brown out, still green & growing like crazy. Makes you wonder about how much moisture is going to come down as snow in a month or so. Good grief....just made myself queasy!
Thursday's special is our B. L. T. with a dessert. Amy made a Banana Poke Cake for the day. I know a B. L. T. doesn't sound like a big deal, but ours's is thick smoked bacon that is a treat to eat, the bread is large & thick, and we load them with lettuce & tomato. We have people who drive out of their way to have our B.L.T., so give it a try....you will be hooked too. Sides of FRIES, MAC OR POTATO SALADS. Homemade soups are Zuppa Tuscana, Creamy Mushroom, and Taco, all available here and in 8, 16, & 32 oz to-go containers.
We have Cherry Mini Pies, Banana Poke Cake, Cinnamon Rolls, Swedish Scones, Brownie Fingers, Viking Balls, Energy Balls, and so many cookies.
Flavored coffee is Jamaican Me Nuts, and the Chai is king again. Try this Chai with Pumpkin Spice added. It is so good.
