I took a little time off two weeks ago so I could have the blessing of watching my youngest sister, Maria, get married in Canada. Although being in the spotlight is definitely not her cup of tea, she made the most beautiful bride.
It was bittersweet watching her walk into the church, with my brothers holding her steady on each side. But as soon as those doors opened, we all thought of one person.
Our father passed away when Maria was only 16 years old. And on a day like this, you can’t help but wonder, “Why doesn’t he get to be here for her?” But some of the greatest gifts our father gave Maria was resilience and strength. And she radiated both of them throughout the entire day. There were so many instances through the ceremony where I truly felt him next to her, beaming at her with the big smile everyone loved.
It truly was a day filled with grace, love, laughter, dancing, and the most beautiful fusion of two cultures coming together as one family. 🇬🇷🇱🇧
Maria and Ramsey, may you have the kind of love our parents shared with one another, and may you build a family rooted in faith, centered in Christ’s teachings, and surrounded by the same love and comfort that carried us through every season. Zito is waiting for you both… και… Να ζήσετε! 🥂🤍
