End of an era
For the past fifteen years we have had the honor and privilege of being part of the Porterhouse legacy. And what a legacy it is! The stories abound and continue. Along with the Porterhouse owners before us, we have touched every surface multiple times claiming and reclaiming this place of gather and celebration. We have hosted musicians, comedians, weddings, funerals, parties, holidays, friends and families. Our dear friend Bob Ottmar with his Dutch oven cookouts, Dimestore Prophets long into the night, Edgar Martinez spoiling us with his tequila, Purple Parties on the patio and countless other events, guests and friends have honored us with their presence and talents. Over the years we have had the privilege of working with some amazing and talented employees. We’ve watched young people grow into adults and lots of people work hard in a business that can be very challenging. Our thanks go out to our purveyors who have often gone above and beyond to keep us supplied and the many maintenance services that have kept us up and running. It has always been our mission to provide wholesome, homemade food in a way and place that honors our guests. We feel that mission has been accomplished. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patronage and loyalty. We know times are tough, this business is difficult and we’ve all had our struggles. But we also know you have chosen us time and again and for that we are humbled and thankful. The time has come for a change. We feel good about the fact that this house of many stories is going into the hands of those we respect and trust. Certainly bittersweet but our last day will be on or about Saturday March 29. Please stop in and share a memory but bear with us as we deal with staff changes and product shortages. We will continue to do our best.
With gratitude,
Sam and Cale Russell
