🏈🇵🇷 THE BENITO BOWL IS TOMORROW 🇵🇷🏈

Here’s what’s happening.
Our flag is on the biggest stage in the world.

T**i Lola says the lyrics are “unsavory.”
Thirty seconds later she’s perreando while pretending she’s not.

Aunt Karen asks why it’s in Spanish,
starts mashing buttons, tries to turn SAP off,
changes the channel, sees what’s on “the other channel,”
gets mortified, quietly switches it back, and suddenly her hips begin to wiggle.

And this is the part everyone misses.

Nobody leaves.
Nobody changes the channel.

The game keeps playing.
The music stays loud.
The kitchen turns into a dance floor.

That’s it.

Not politics.
Not fashion debates.
Not lyric think pieces.

Just pride for a beautiful flag on the largest stage there is.

So here’s the move.

Eat first.
Watch football.
Dance anyway.
Be proud.

Before kickoff, handle the food.

🥟 Order Koki empanadas in bulk.
Enough for everyone in the room, including the loud ones.

❄️🚨 WE ARE BURIED. DO YOU HEAR ME? BURIED. 🚨❄️

Closed today because the snow came in here UNINVITED, sat down, took its shoes off, and decided to stay.

We can’t open.
We can’t move.
We are just sitting here complaining like abuela, talking to ourselves, waving our hands, getting louder by the sentence.

“¿TÚ VES ESTA NIEVE?”
“YO TE LO DIJE MIJO QUE NO SALIERAS EN ESTA MIER–”
“A LA VERDAD QUE USTEDES SON UNOS MALCRIAOS, NISQUE COCINANDO...”
“¿DONDE ESTA MI CHANCLETA?“

And now the coquí is stuck.
Because of us.....and all the saints abuela mentioned while scolding us.

The snow had no respect.
And abuela is offended on a cellular level.

We will reopen once this snow apologizes and explains itself.
Until then, we are CLOSED and emotionally exhausted.

Stay warm. Don’t slip. And for the love of everything holy... don’t argue with abuela.
At least not until she forgets about this misdeed.

❄️🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL 🚨❄️

The first flurries are falling, threatening a rough snow day.
We are threatening back. ¡Que se jo–!

Koki will be OPEN AS LONG AS THE WEATHER ALLOWS IT, serving hot, loud, unapologetically Puerto Rican food until the skies say otherwise 🇵🇷🔥

This is your official warning to come eat before we’re snowed in, iced over, or turned into a coquí-shaped igloo 🐸❄️

Do not overthink it.
Do not wait for “later.”
Do not ask if tomorrow is better.

Just show up!

TODAY is the day.
Warm food. Big flavors. Island energy fighting winter with every plate.

⏰ Open until weather forces our hand
🍽️ Come hungry
🧥 Dress like an adult
❄️ Snow might fall
🔥 The food absolutely will not (unless it's in your tummy... that is how gravity works, right?)

If we disappear into the snow tonight, just know… we went down feeding the people 😤

¡Nos vemos pronto!

This year we brought out the heavy hitters.
The comfort food icons.
The dishes Minga y Petraca would fight over en el balcón, while Bejuco y Cholón narrate the drama like it’s Telemundo at 7 pm.

Order your Christmas Feast, and indulge in a little extra!

💛 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚
Made exactly the way Fina intended.
Tender. Aromatic. Dangerous to your emotional stability.
One bite and suddenly you’re blinking fast like

🤍 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐨
This dessert does not whisper.
It cups your face gently and says

🤎 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞
Wiggles with the confidence of someone who already knows abuela is going to ask
¿𝙮 𝙡𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙨?
Trembles like your tío doing plena with two left feet but full heart.

And all of it joins our Thanksgiving plates loaded with arroz, pernil, and that Kokí level sazón that tastes like
𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐚, 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐄 𝐃𝐄 𝐋𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐚.

Order early. Laugh. Cry.
Eat like every ancestor is watching and nodding in approval.

Yeah. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨.
The 𝐊𝐨𝐤𝐢́ 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 isn’t food — it’s a 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡.

One bite of arroz con gandules and suddenly you’re back in your mom’s kitchen, trying to sneak a spoonful before she yells:
“¡¿𝙈𝙄𝙍𝘼 𝙌𝙐𝙀 𝙏𝙀 𝙋𝘼𝙎𝘼?! ¡¿𝙋𝙀𝙍𝘿𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙀 𝙀𝙇 𝘾𝙊𝘾𝙊?! ¡𝙉𝙊 𝙈𝙀 𝙃𝘼𝙂𝘼𝙎 𝘾𝙊𝙍𝙍𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙀 𝘾𝙊𝙉 𝙇𝘼 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙇𝙀𝙏𝘼!” 😭

The air smells like adobo and gossip. Someone’s yelling about dominos. Someone else forgot to bring the Medallas again (¡oye tío pero que listo! ¿pa que vaya a comprar yo?).

You’re home: messy, loud, beautiful home.

We just bottled that chaos and served it with flan.

🔥 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚.

Don’t settle for dry turkey (seriously? just butter and salt?).
Get a plate that 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆.

We’re heartbroken to hear of the passing of Raymond Guadalupe, the brilliant artist behind the murals at both our original Raleigh location and our Downtown Durham home.

We flew him in, and in just 24 hours, with nothing more than the words “representa Puerto Rico… necesitamos la bandera con el azul correcto, y el toro que representa a Durham” (represent Puerto Rico, we need the flag with the proper blue, and the Bull that symbolizes Durham), he created the pieces that gave our walls their soul. Raymond didn’t just paint; he channeled Puerto Rico: its pride, its color, its fight, its joy.

A genius, gone far too soon. Our love goes out to his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to be touched by his work and spirit.

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women who make the world go ‘round! 🌸

Whether you're 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮, 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗶, 𝗧í𝗮, or just the woman who keeps everything together (even when the rest of us are a hot mess), today is for 𝗬𝗢𝗨! 💖

We know you're out there doing the hard work—feeding the family, giving hugs that fix everything, slapping vick's on our face when we broke a toe, and making sure everyone knows who’s in charge. And if that’s not worth celebrating, we don’t know what is. 😏🔥

So here’s to the real queens who hold it all down—whether you’re making 𝑠𝑜𝑝𝑎 𝑑𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑜, holding down the fort, or just kicking back with your 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑗𝑖𝑡𝑜. Today, we’re sending 𝗔𝗟𝗟 the love. 😘❤️

🌮 ¡Feliz 5 de Mayo, you amazing, mariachi-loving legends! 🇲🇽

Today, we’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the spirit of unity—because whether you're from Puerto Rico, Mexico, the DR, or any corner of Latin America, today’s about all of us. 💃🔥

It's not about food (okay, maybe a little) or alcohol (okay, maybe a lot), instead it's about the love, the community, and the vibes that make being Latino so special. It doesn’t matter where we’re from—we’re all bound by that energy and spirit that makes life more fun! 🥳

So raise a glass, throw on some mariachi or rancheras, and let’s make today one for the books (and maybe don't get too drunk...). 🥂🎉

🐰 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹, 𝗘𝗴𝗴-𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀! 🐣🎉

We’re OPEN today, so come on in and let us serve you some food that’s better than whatever bunny-shaped candy you’re planning to munch on. 🐇🍽️ We're here until 3 PM—plenty of time to satisfy your cravings before you go back to hunting eggs or pretending to be “too grown-up” for it. 🙄🥚

Whether you’re chasing Easter eggs or just chasing a 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 meal, we’ve got you covered with mouthwatering dishes that’ll make you say “Wow, the Easter Bunny really knows what’s up.” 🧆💥

Hurry, though—𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 waits for no one (except maybe that chocolate bunny you’ve already eaten). 😜🍴

🍀 Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! 🍀

So, you’re hunting for four-leaf clovers, huh? Newsflash: those things look like outcast cilantro that just barely made it through herb school. 🌱 But don’t worry—the real treasure isn’t in some random field... it’s in a pot of empanadas! 🧆💰

Stop wasting time looking for gold at the end of some rainbow that's going to somehow show up when there's not even a cloud in the sky, because we’ve got your favorite kind of gold RIGHT HERE, in crispy, delicious, dough-wrapped form. 🏅 Forget about “luck” and focus on flavor. (The only green we care about is the perfect amount of Chipotle Aioli or Chimichurri Aioli on your empanada.) 🌶️

Come get some real gold today—no leprechauns needed. 😏✨
