The Legacy Behind the Pearls—At Timeless Elegance Tea Room, we believe that elegance isn’t about being noticed—it’s about being remembered. Today, we want to share the story of the woman whose grace and vision built the very walls that surround us: our founder and my mother, Mrs. Barbara Long.
For Mrs. Barbie, Timeless Elegance was never just a business; it was her mission field. Alongside her sister, Phyllis, she took a leap of faith to create a small space of 16 seats that grew to 86 seats Downtown Morristown where everyone was treated like the guest of honor. Whether she was serving a room of sixty or a quiet table for two, Mrs. Barbara made sure every person felt seen, valued, and—most importantly—never left hungry.
A Mission of Grace—Known for her signature pearls and her radiant smile, Barbara lived by the philosophy that “elegance is an everyday occasion.” She poured her life into the Tea Room, ensuring that it was a sanctuary of hospitality and a place where the community could gather to find comfort and connection.
Continuing the Dream—Though Barbara passed away in 2011, her spirit remains the heartbeat of everything we do. We are honored to keep her legacy alive, preserving the standards of excellence and the “Southern Belle” charm that Mrs. Barbie was so famous for.
Every pot of tea we steep and every meal we serve is a tribute to her belief that kindness and elegance go hand-in-hand.
Thank you for being part of Mrs. Barbara’s mission. We invite you to join us soon to experience the Timeless Elegance she so dearly loved Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 am to 2:30 pm this week. 🫖✨
