On Oct. 13, 1858, Abraham Lincoln faced Stephen Douglas in Quincy, Illinois, for the sixth of their famous Lincoln-Douglas Debates.

Abe spent the afternoon going head-to-head with Douglas.

Tonight, you can go head-to-head with the other trivia teams — with half-off wings instead.

On Oct. 11, 1858, Abraham Lincoln arrived in Monmouth, Illinois, where rain ruined plans for a big welcoming celebration.

Apparently Abe didn’t take the hint — he went on to give a three-hour speech that afternoon.

Three hours. Suddenly a Bears game doesn’t seem that long.

On Oct. 8, 1856, Abraham Lincoln was just up the road speaking to a huge political rally in Joliet in support of presidential candidate John C. Frémont.

A newspaper reported that Abe's speech had the crowd cheering.
170 years later, we're still keeping him busy around here. 🍔🍺

On Oct. 6, 1858, Abe was riding the train across Illinois on his way to debate Stephen Douglas. His travel attire? A carpetbag, big gray shawl and a “somewhat rusty stovepipe hat.”

Abe may have invented casual travel clothes. 🤷‍♂️
