Dolly Parton songs didn't always fill our home growing up. As I grew older the music really began to speak to me and landed in the deepest parts of my heart. The way she sang songs and told stories reminded me of sitting at my grandparents' house and listening to my grandpa tell stories and sing. And I think that may be why it hurts so much to have to say goodbye to her. Because it is one more storyteller gone.

What Dolly accomplished in her life I do not think could ever be recreated. A legacy left that will have us all asking "What would Dolly do?" The truth is I think Dolly would want us all to be a little bit kinder, a little bit nicer to ourselves, and help raise up those that need a boost.

In Dolly's honor we have made a donation to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library helps support children from newborn to the age of 5 by giving them free books. With over 300 million books donated since it started in 1995.

We thank you Dolly Parton for your music, your strength and willingness to support others. You were a shining star here on Earth and will forever shine in our hearts. 🦋

The faint LaLaLa's ushering in fall... Otherwise known as Gilmore Girl season.

We don't rush seasons over here but the cooler mornings have definitely got us pushing closer to fall vibes than summer. And with that means we are so close to being back from our August break.

We know there are farm stands and there are bakery carts but what if Modern Appalachian Kitchen started a fall candy cart.
